Mr. 3000 is a hit!

I truly enjoyed Mr. 3000.
The character, Sam Ross (played by Bernie Mac) remind me a lot of Barry Bonds (not sure why).
In the film Ross hits his 3000 home run in 1996 and right after the game he quits the team, leaving full of arrogance and assured he will be in the hall of fame. (does this remind you of Bonds a little bit?). 9 years later after leaving the game and alienating everyone in baseball it comes to light that his hit count was truly 2997. So Ross must make a comeback to get 3 hits.
What I liked most about the movie ix how his comeback changed him as a person for the better. The film does have a good message and is a joy to watch.
The bonus section of the film is fun. The outtakes and deleted scenes could have had a bit more in them, and I wish they had told me how they filmed all the crowd scenes and edited that in. (They eluded to it but did not really go into details).
There is a good piece in the bonus section of how they auditioned the extra ballplayers.
Great film for any fan of baseball - or a fan of seeing how a person can change - to watch.
