Mr. 3000 (DVD, 2005, Full Frame)

I bought this movie because I've been collecting baseball movies / DVDs & I definitely have to say that this is a very good & funny movie with a good positive message behind it! The late Bernie Mac (R.I.P.)delivers a very good lead acting role & it is probably his best movie EVER, apart from all the strict, straight up, comedy movies he played in most of the time in his acting career! This movie is not strictly comedy but is action & drama as well! Like I said, this movie has a good positive message about a Milwaukee Brewers Major League Baseball player who quits on his team while they are on a play-off run just because he got his 3000 hits that he thought would guarantee him a spot in the hall of fame! And he was also upset with the media at the time as well! Then, he finds out that he only has 2997 hits ,only 3 hits shy of 3000 after he's been out of baseball for about 7 years & decides to make a come back and get whipped into baseball shape again to regain his claim to fame. Bernie Mac (Mr. 3000) who was the most selfish egotistical baseball player then grows up & turns into an all around team player & role model for his new young teammates by settling for 2999 hits by laying down a bunt to score the walk-off winning run for his team so they wouldn't have to settle for the worst record in their team's division. It's a definite "GOOD" movie but not excellent . . . A definite "must buy" for a baseball fan & baseball movie collector!

great low price. its finally good to enjoy a movie i like at such a low price with great quality.the best part of the movie is to see stan make a positive move in life and put other first.the funniest part of the movie is whatching him work out to get back in shape for the game. not to mention his silly teamates are very funny. mainly the to players who make bets on anyand everything.

One of the last great movies from Bernie Mac . This is just one those movies I can watch over and over again .

bernie mack at his comdey best ......you have it all baseball and bernie at his comic best ...bernie can let out some 4 letter word's in his other movies but in this one none that i can recall.....the primess is a baseball player with 3000 hit's is trying to get in the hall of fame ...but find's out that 3 hit's were no good ....so at 2097 hits he goes back to baseball and his old team to reclaim his glory.....but in doing so he find's out more about him self than he knew. great movie ......thumb's up all the way.

a good addition to my baseball collection, did want to buy it fullprice cause its an ok movie but here i could buy it for cheap and dont have to worry about is quality becuase they always send me a good product.

Funny premise for a film and pulled off pretty well. Don't look for "real" baseball but a good addition to any baseball movie fans collection.

This is an O.K movie. It has some funny parts too in it. This is a great movie for any baseball fan or just somebody that wants a good movie.

Bernie Mac is a good role model because during the movie he turned from self-centered to team oriented. He was funny as usual. He is growing as an actor.
