Move Over Darling (DVD, 2007)

James Garner is widower Nick Arden, who heads off on his honeymoon with new wife Bianca, played by Polly Bergen. But not so fast...his late wife Ellen, played to comedic perfection by Doris Day, shows up very much alive - having been stranded on an island since her plane crashed five years before! When she learns hubby is on a honeymoon with his new wife, she heads off to the resort where the newlyweds are staying. Thelma Ritter also stars as Nick's mom, and Chuck Conners plays the man Ellen was stranded with on the island. Yes, it is just as much fun as it sounds, with a great cast that brings fun to the screen that the entire family can enjoy. They don't make movies like this anymore. Doris Day and James Garner had great chemistry together, and it is a joy to watch them at work. Don't miss this one!

I had seen this movie several times in the past, and never got tired of it. It is really funny, with very good comedic acting. Perfect for the family to watch together.

I have always enjoyed watching the older movies. They are good, clean fun for the family! I am glad that they are coming out on DVD's to purchase. There are getting to be more and more to choose from.

I'm a big Doris Day fan and decided I wanted some of her movies for myself, then I wouldn't be at the mercy of the tv schedule makers. I miss the days when you could watch a movie and not be afraid of hearing cuss words or taking my Lord's name in vain. This movie is a very funny one, "just like Irene Dunne-done."

I like some of the older movies like this one because they are good clean funny movies without all the language and sexual content . In most cases I would rather watch an old movie than most of the stuff they have available now.

These older movies are still the best intertainment going. I watched this with my teenage granddaughter and she laughed so hard she asked to take it to an overnight lockin party. Can't get a better review than that.

One of the funniest that Doris Day did. I laughed so hard. I especially liked the swimming pool when He drove the car into it.

It's a classic Doris Day movie, and a very funny one! I love old movies, its true that they don't make them like that anymore! I wanted it in my collection.

Move Over Darling was great. It was redone into a DVD. The quality and color of the picture was great.

Typical Doris Day. Which is exactly why I ordered it. I think it's the best movie she ever made. Even better than the Rock Hudson one's.

Move Over Darling was a movie with clean, romatic comedy. It is still as funny as when I was a kid. It's ashamed we can't go back to those times when actors and actresses expressed themselves without using 4 letter words, and it left a wonderful feeling within the viewer. It's a movie that you can watch time and time again.

I purchased this dvd because I am a Doris Day fan......the dvd arrived well packaged in a timely fashion as I expected.

this clever story has Garner as the Widower husband finally getting REmarried to LOVELY Polly Bergen wife number two~ but when Doris (wife Number ONE) is rescued from a desert island where she was stranded for several years and shows up to a big REUNION with her husband and two children she is in for a big "surprise"...he HAS remarried~ ~ ADD DORIS was "stranded with "Chuck Conners" who played ADAM to her EVE and wants to MARRY HER. THIS IS CLEVER AND FUN~ THE SHOWSTEALER HERE IS Garner's mother Thelma Ritter who never gives a bad performance but HAS fun in this one~ when Garner is suddenly ARRESTED for Bigamy HE and his two "wives" end up in court~ GREAT Edgar Buchanan their JUDGE~(Uncle Joe Petticoat Junction) has some marvelous lines and fun as the guy who has to make some sense and decision on who is DEAD (Doris ) and who is legally alive and who is married and who is NOT~ ADD GARNER as the jealous HUSBAND who finds out that DON Knotts is "not" the wimpy man HE assumes was stranded on the island with "wife one" Doris BUT hunk muscle man Chuck Conners and HE wants a DIVORCE~did you get all of this? LOL

how can he do Divorce wife ONE when he is married to WIFE TWO and Wife "one" was declared dead?~ beyond funny court room scene~ NOT DORIS DAYS BEST but a fun watch none the less~

I GIVE IT A SOLID 7 OUT OF 10 FOR CLEVER WRITING. I GIVE THELMA RITTER AND EDGAR BUCHANNON EACH A "1O" FOR ACTING~!
