Moulin Rouge (DVD, 2009, Wedding Faceplate)

This is a very interesting film with an interesting consept; Take a 1952 Oscar winner for best Picture, Throw everything out but the name (script and premis and all) Keep the Main character but change him from a sad old drunk to a wimsical merry elf, make him an insignificant suporting character and add a butt load of pop music--- Sounds awful, but your Wrong... This is one of the best films ever, just watch it and prove yourself wrong!!

I am probably one of very few people in the world who was not immediately taken by this film. I thought the begining of the film lacked focus and pourpose. The Plot and character development was confusing at best. I was ready to hit the eject button and make this DVD another coaster.
BUT then came the Tango. Perhaps one of the best choreographed and staged and filmed dance sequences of all time. WOW. From there the story started making sence and the characters started coming together and developing. By the end of the film I decided that I only wasted half of my money and half of my time. But the last half is certainly worth its own part. The last half nearly stands alone.
I point no fingers and make no blame. Its just that if there had been an intermission before the Tango (ROXANNE) then I would not have come back.
Costumes, sets and decor, cinamatogrephy and performances were top rate throughout.

i bought this movie because i saw it on hbo i think and when i watched it the first time i wanted to watch it over and over so i had to buy it plus i like the music in it.I love musicals about life and love

The DVD, Moulin Rouge, was purchased through Ebay because my wife wanted a copy of this movie for her own collection. The transaction went smoothly and the item was just as advertised. Movies such as this can be purchased much less expensively through trusted sellers on EBay than through other offline sources.

Moulin Rouge is a disturbing film. There are 2 or 3 scenes that eclipse just about all that I have seen in film. The height of emotional content, color and heart felt acting all focussed into a few musical notes. And yet most of the film, the negative space around these few Everest moments is bizarre and has 'grating' quality to it. Is there something wrong with the director and the actors? To me, it's as powerful and disturbing as the blood seeping from Satine's mouth as she croaks at the end of the film. Weird stuff.

A classic to enjoy. Coming back from college, this was always a movie that I had teneded to borrow from others to watch. So, I decided to purchase ti for myself and I was not disappointed.

Baz Luhrmann's wonderful masterpiece, beautifully shot with color and life. Awesome music, tragic love story. One of the greatest ever...

I love how the movie incorporates hit music but turns it into a story/musical. I bought it because it is one of my husband's favorite movies but in doing so it has become one of my favorite movies as well.

I can't wait to get this movie home, sit done with a bowl of popcorn and watch it. The new Moulin Rouge is so much better than the old one. I love a good love story. With so much color, music and excitment, you will want to watch this again and again.

Great love story! One of my favorites! It's a musical set back during the revolution where all believed loving would fix everything. Amazing music and singers.

This is another musical that I find intriguing. The arts have been used to the fullest extent, even computer skills were widely used. This movie is about Bohemians and their job to create this musical. The special effects are terrific!

Odd start, but the longer you get into the movie and the more you learn about the characters...it is a movie worth watching...

When I first saw it, I was a little apprehensive as to whether or not I should watch the rest of it. Well, I'm glad I did. Once the story line unfolds, it really becomes interesting.
