It has finally arrived. The long rumored, DVD rock-u-mentary of Mott The Hoople has arrived for viewing in your living room. I can not say enough without first extending a big Thank You to all those responsible for bringing this project to life and completion, including former Hoople keyboardist Morgan Fisher. Due to his foresightedness and perhaps awe of the band itself, he recorded much of their history on film. Included in the DVD are rare photos, film clips, interviews and I even saw contemporary footage of the elusive Buffin. Mott The Hoople was influential in the music careers of many European and American artists still on the scene. Listen to and see some tell of their early experiences as a fan, a producer or engineer inside the booth. Follow the chronological life and death of MTH, thru the emergence of Mott, Ian Hunter's solo career, British Lions and later projects involving the band members. The early days of MTH was blessed by the likes of Guy Stevens as producer and Stan Tippins (the pre-MTH band Silence, vocals) graciously staying on as tour manager. These two were as much a founding entity as any bandmate; that their story must also be told, and it is. Bowie is here, with Ronson in 1972. Ronson returns as guitarist for MTH when the end is near. When the final analysis of MTH is told, stay tuned for the contributor biographies and test your knowledge by taking the interactive Mott The Hoople digital quiz. I recommend this DVD for all fans of Mott the Hoople and the various off-shoot careers that got their feet wet while Walkin' with a Mountain.
