Motorola V3

I have worked in the cellular industry for a long time and seen phone come and go. Motorola is usually at the cutting edge of phones and the V3 RAZR phone is no exception. I will give a short list of Pros and Cons of the phone and then expound a little more on then for those that care to get into more detail.

Pros:

+ Design
+ Structure (a solid frame)

+ Battery Life
+ Keypad
+ Sound Quality

+ Messaging Software

Neutrals:

~ Speakerphone
~ Side Buttons
~ Software (can be slow, can be fast, can work great, can fail)

Cons:

- Vibration - hard to feel even in a tight pocket (could be due to size)
- Camera (easy to use, but only VGA (640x480 res))
- Sound Loudness (hard to hear in noisy places)
- Hinge (hard to open with one hand, same to close)
- Price

Pros -

The phone is solid. It is made out of the same material the Apple Powerbook G4 is made from, anodized aluminum. It is also the sleekest phone of the market coming in at 89 x 53 x 13.9 mm. It also is extremely light at 95 grams!

The battery life is pretty standard for phone coming out today with a 750 mAh Li-Ion battery that has maximum talk and standby times of 3.0 and 200 hours respectively under optimal conditions.

The keypad stays true to the design of the phone and is user friendly. I like the feel and design myself but I could foresee problems if your color blind (silver) or if your visually impaired.

The sound is fantastic for such a small phone. It was this one quality that I was most worried about. Everything worked perfectly when it came to incoming and outgoing calls. The only Con here was the speaker phone which will be discussed a little more below.

Customizability is incredible ... almost to the point that it might be a tad bit overwhelming if you don’t take the time to figure out how everything works. I still feel this is a Pro though as I can’t expect too many people would get this phone and not want to take the time to learn all the features. Everything can be customized but I do recommend you set a side more than just an evening to learn it all!

Bluetooth is now becoming more of a standard feature but I am sure glad to see it on this phone. It was a good decision on the part of Motorola and only adds to its futuristic style. Along with this the messaging feature is about par with the Motorola operating software and really doesn’t need any improvements.

I should also mention that this is a Quad band phone so for a world traveler (like me) this was a HUGE selling point!

Neutrals:

The speaker phone was nothing to write home about. It worked ... but that’s about all you could say for it. More often than not I would just end up turning it off and talking into the phone. If you have Bluetooth set up you shouldn’t really need to use it all that often and it didn’t work against the phone ... it just wasn’t the best it could be.

If you have used the V551 and similar models Motorola seems to be trying new uses for the side buttons ... but I have only found them more distracting than beneficial. One thing that irks me is that its quite temperamental when it comes to volume control and making the phone go silent.

Along with this there were no upgrades to the OS from previous models. While on par with what you would expect for most phones I thought there would be improvements here.

Cons:

Are pretty self explanatory but they should be taken into consideration before buying!

I love this phone, has everything I ever wanted in a phone. clear screen, great picture quality. fast keyboard for texting. I'm very happy with this razr.

This phone so far is awesome!! I looked it up on AT&T and the going price was $349!!! If you sign a 2 year contract it was only $149!! Whoopie! I got it here on Ebay for only $87!! I say that was a great deal and it works great too!
The phone on AT&T was a refurbished one and this one still had the plastic on it and it came with a car charger!! Great deal!! Plus this phone has a 3 M-pixels and the other one only had 1 M-pixels!! All in all, just a great deal.

I own a Motorola V3 Pink Phone that was thru Cingular for about 2 years.
This is almost same phone except I can't delete off the pictures and phone ring that came on the phone. Therefore, my free space does not allow me to
have more of my own ringtones and pictures on this phone. This is the main
thing that I don't like on this phone. Maybe, there is a way to take off
but have not figured it out. I purchased this phone because I dropped mine
and hurt speaker on phone just a little. I really love the V3 for the size
of phone and phone book storage, and other things it has.

the only thing i have found is the ring tones are not lond enough, and i find i have to push to hard on the contacts and message buttons

Phone works really well. I like the fact that it stays charged for a fairly long time. It was shipped in a reasonable amount of time. It also didnt cost that much.

This phone is exactly what I was looking for--function and style in one package. I PURCHASED THE PHONE AND GOT A SPEEDY DELIVERY. ONCE I RECEIVED THE PHONE I HAD SEVERAL PROBLEMS WITH IT LOCKING UP. I SPENT SEVERAL HOURS ON THE PHONE WITH MY CARRIER AND HAD TO PURCHASE A NEW SIM CARD. THE BACK OF THE PHONE IMMEDIATLY FELL OFF AND THE 2 DAY THE SCREEN WENT BLANK. the phone was in excellent condition. It is an good phone for someone whe surfs the net and texts a great deal.

I have AT&T and travel abroad and need/want a phone with 4-frequency GSM capability and that's the main reason for buying the V3.
However, while it normally works very well, I've had two of them quit due to minor and/or very short bouts of water on them.
Not battery nor SIM card but the main Motorola equipment itself fails.

Waterproof them a bit better and they would be my preference for as long as all I need is just a straight forward phone without all the "goodies" of an IPod, etc.

When going to your service provider costs $250 and up (with a possible necessary service upgrade -- along with a higher monthly cell bill) for that replacement phone, DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR $$$$......... I HIGHLY recommend going to this seller FIRST!!!!! This is a great deal!!!! Where else can you get a practically brand new, mint condition, Motorola Razr WITH car charger, home charger, carrying case and battery for less than $60? Also, the customer service was very helpful and caring. I will be buying all of my phones through this company and hope you all follow my lead.

I like the product just fine, but they wont leave you any feedback!!! I even emailed them after the sale and I left them fast and positve feedback.

I was still not satisfied with my product. But didn't want to go through the hassle of resending it back, even though the company was very friendly and willing to exchange the first one.

what i like about the phone is that its in great condition,it looks almost new. what i dont like is that it makes a weird noise after talking for a bit, but in overall it was a good purchase.

I was looking for a replacement phone, after dropping mine and the screen went blank. Im not a teenager but wanted a phone that I could text on because I have 5 grandchildren that like to text me occasionally and send me pictures. I didn't want to put a lot of money into another phone and didn't want to do another contract. (I prefer not being under contract) The phone works fine, its definately been used, some signs of wear but works fine.

I thought the phone would do everything the seller said it would.
At the time we received too much going on to figure out why and
missed out on the opportunity to exchange. Probably will not do business
