Motorola V3

I have worked in the cellular industry for a long time and seen phone come and go. Motorola is usually at the cutting edge of phones and the V3 RAZR phone is no exception. I will give a short list of Pros and Cons of the phone and then expound a little more on then for those that care to get into more detail.

Pros:

+ Design
+ Structure (a solid frame)
+ Size
+ Battery Life
+ Keypad
+ Sound Quality

+ Bluetooth
+ Messaging Software

Neutrals:

~ Speakerphone
~ Side Buttons
~ Software (can be slow, can be fast, can work great, can fail)

Cons:

- Vibration - hard to feel even in a tight pocket (could be due to size)
- Camera (easy to use, but only VGA (640x480 res))
- Sound Loudness (hard to hear in noisy places)
- Hinge (hard to open with one hand, same to close)
- Price

Pros -

The phone is solid. It is made out of the same material the Apple Powerbook G4 is made from, anodized aluminum. It is also the sleekest phone of the market coming in at 89 x 53 x 13.9 mm. It also is extremely light at 95 grams!

The battery life is pretty standard for phone coming out today with a 750 mAh Li-Ion battery that has maximum talk and standby times of 3.0 and 200 hours respectively under optimal conditions.

The keypad stays true to the design of the phone and is user friendly. I like the feel and design myself but I could foresee problems if your color blind (silver) or if your visually impaired.

The sound is fantastic for such a small phone. It was this one quality that I was most worried about. Everything worked perfectly when it came to incoming and outgoing calls. The only Con here was the speaker phone which will be discussed a little more below.

Customizability is incredible ... almost to the point that it might be a tad bit overwhelming if you don’t take the time to figure out how everything works. I still feel this is a Pro though as I can’t expect too many people would get this phone and not want to take the time to learn all the features. Everything can be customized but I do recommend you set a side more than just an evening to learn it all!

Bluetooth is now becoming more of a standard feature but I am sure glad to see it on this phone. It was a good decision on the part of Motorola and only adds to its futuristic style. Along with this the messaging feature is about par with the Motorola operating software and really doesn’t need any improvements.

I should also mention that this is a Quad band phone so for a world traveler (like me) this was a HUGE selling point!

Neutrals:

The speaker phone was nothing to write home about. It worked ... but that’s about all you could say for it. More often than not I would just end up turning it off and talking into the phone. If you have Bluetooth set up you shouldn’t really need to use it all that often and it didn’t work against the phone ... it just wasn’t the best it could be.

If you have used the V551 and similar models Motorola seems to be trying new uses for the side buttons ... but I have only found them more distracting than beneficial. One thing that irks me is that its quite temperamental when it comes to volume control and making the phone go silent.

Along with this there were no upgrades to the OS from previous models. While on par with what you would expect for most phones I thought there would be improvements here.

Cons:

Are pretty self explanatory but they should be taken into consideration before buying!

The razor phone I bought was a great phone and great value for a razor. Plus the nice phone cover had a soft unique feel. If you drop the phone the case will not break it was a great phone cover for a 12 year old. He was very, very, very, excited about razor phone and cover. Thank you for sending the phone and cover fast. It was a joy buying from you.

As I listed above it is a chance you take when you by used items. I have learned I need to ask more questions and be specific. From the picture it looked really good. The exterior phone condition was okay. If I had asked more questions I don't think I would have chosen this phone. The battery does not hold a charge. Every few hours I have to recharge the phone. The keys are also very worn done to were you have to hold it all different ways in order to see the numbers. With it not staying fully charged a lot of my phone calls do not come through, they go straight to voicemail. The camera works really great... I have taking some terrific pictures.

I decided to search for a phone because my current contract is not up till in January of 2009. My other phone fell but only worked on one side of the key pad. I figured I would buy a phone till get a new contract. Sometime I wonder if I should have just bought a new phone and paid the extra money for less headache then I needed. This was a bad experience so I decided to cool it for a bit before purchasing through ebay again. It made me leary of what other items I would receive with defaults. I know it is always a chance of a roulette table.

I had just purchased a brand new pink razor from at&t and 1 month later, it got washed in the washing machine :( Of course, at&t had just stopped selling pink razors, so I couldn't get a replacement. That's why I decided to buy one on ebay; it was the only place I could get another pink razor. The phone I got on ebay is good for an older model. It doesn't do all the great things my brand new one did, but it's as good as I could get due to the circumstances. It works well and I love the color. It was also in pretty good condition for a phone that was over 1 year old.

I really like all the features of this phone. I don't know if it's the Limited Edition but is has about 7 different languages that can be chosen. I had to set everything to English but it was simple. I used the same settings that were in my Sons Razr. Phone works great. Reception is awesome and Battery life averages 4 to 5 days. No faults that I can see.... Thanks.......

...just when I thought I had purchased the phone that was going to last me awhile, or at least more than last phone (Nokia), I was sadly disappointed!!! All the features are good on the phone except for the LED. My LED went out from who knows what??? The phone continues to work, ring & calling others, but that is it. Forget about text messaging; accessing your phonebook or anything else for that matter, cause it doesn't show up on the LED screen any longer.

Now I am back to a NOKIA after wasting more than $140+ on the purchase of the Motorola V3. At least I know my new NOKIA will last, as my last one lasted more than 8 years+...as I wanted to upgrade, so it actually still is working cause one of my children are using it... ☺☺☻☺☺

I CANT TELL YOU WHAT I LIKE ABOUT THIS ITEM CUZ I NEVER RECIEVED IT??? I BID ON A PHONE AND WAS TOLD IT WAS IN WORKING ORDER BUT, WHEN I RECIEVED IT I WAS QUICKLY AWARE IT WOULDNT EVEN TURN ON!! SO THE SELLER CONTACTED ME AND SAID IF I SEND IT BACK HE WOULD REPLACE IT. SO I SENT IT BACK WITHIN 2 DAYS AND WHEN A WEEK AND A HALF WENT BY I CONTACTED SELLER WAS TOLD NEW PHONE WAS SENT BACK WITH THE WRONG ADDRESS. AFTER GIVING SELLER MY NEW ADDRESS 3 WEEKS WENT BYE WITHOUT ANY SIGN OF PHONE??? WHEN I SENT SELLER ANOTHER MESSAGE I WAS TOLD THAT THEY NEVER HEARD OF ME AND DIDNT HAVE ANY BUISINESS DEALING WITH ME IN THE LAST 30 DAYS??? i am some what ok with the purcahase. but the phone has the wrong carrier info instead of the one that was on the ad.

OKay I bought this phone because my last tmobile phone was broke. The screen blacked out and I couldnt make calls or answer calls. Then i bought this phone and it said it was in good condition except a few scratches. When I got the phone all was well, except i noticed these water spots in the screen, and the water mark on the back looks like someone stuck a sticker ontop of it. Also, the phone turns off at random times and the screen goes black but turns on. This is what I was gettin away from, but this dealer just set me up. I spent nearly $75 dollars on this phone just to have it break. HORRIBLE PHONE

Phone is very good for the money. External speaker could be a little louder for hands-free talking. Camera phone is adequate for it's intended purpose.

The quad band telepone is excellent choice.

I was going to get my husband the razor v3 but when looking over the phone details; razor and razor v3 are about the same. Then the cost for it is way too high. Why buy another phone that is a newer modle and a high cost when they have the same things on it.

I bought one for my kids everything worked fine but they are a very slow phone. So, if you don't mind waiting then this phone would be o.k. for you.

The one i bought was a piece of chit,,,the camera didn`t work and every time you tried it the phone froze up and had to take battery out to un freeze it

This phone so far is awesome!! I looked it up on AT&T and the going price was $349!!! If you sign a 2 year contract it was only $149!! Whoopie! I got it here on Ebay for only $87!! I say that was a great deal and it works great too!
The phone on AT&T was a refurbished one and this one still had the plastic on it and it came with a car charger!! Great deal!! Plus this phone has a 3 M-pixels and the other one only had 1 M-pixels!! All in all, just a great deal.

I own a Motorola V3 Pink Phone that was thru Cingular for about 2 years.
This is almost same phone except I can't delete off the pictures and phone ring that came on the phone. Therefore, my free space does not allow me to
have more of my own ringtones and pictures on this phone. This is the main
thing that I don't like on this phone. Maybe, there is a way to take off
but have not figured it out. I purchased this phone because I dropped mine
and hurt speaker on phone just a little. I really love the V3 for the size
of phone and phone book storage, and other things it has.

the only thing i have found is the ring tones are not lond enough, and i find i have to push to hard on the contacts and message buttons
