Motorola V262 (ALLTEL Wireless)

I used to hate cell phones. They never worked when you needed them and they were troublesome to carry around. This phone is different though.

I live in Macon, GA but I work in a small town about 50 miles away and I had a hard time finding a cell phone that would work during my commute. My old cell phone would be out of range for about half of the trip, but with the V262 I have coverage all the way.

The old cell phones were too big and I kept droping it or hitting it on something like a wall or my desk when I wore it. The V262 is a flip phone and is very small and only weighs 3.7 ounces! I sometimes forget that I am wearing it!

It's also got speakerphone and voice recognition. All I have to do is push one button and say a name and it calls them for me. It's great when I'm driving!

Overall this is a great phone. I'm still discovering new things to do with it!

I decided to buy the phone on ebay because new the phones cost a lot more. 200.00 When I got the phone it was like new and works great. I was a little worried about buying another cell phone off eBay. I bought one and the seller never sent it, but this transaction went great and I got a great buy. I love eBay!

The Motorola V262 is a very good phone. I had to buy this phone, because my first V262 shattered due to being stepped on. This phone gets really good reception and drops very few calls, which is extremely important to me in a cell phone.

The Motorola V262 cell phone by Alltel is one of the most simplistic, yet versatile phones Alltel can offer a customer. Being someone who has always wanted the simple things, yet had a lot of features, this phone answered my prayers.

What I like about this phone is its compact design, the little LCD screen on the front indicating the time, and the amount of battery life that it can sustain. The phones user interface is also very easy to use...and very self-explanatory for those who just want something easy for a cell phone.

One feature I love about this phone is the “ObeyMoto” feature. Activating this feature is as easy as pushing a button on the outside shell of the phone, and then it asks you what you want to do. Two of the greatest things about using this feature are that you can say "Name Dial" and say any contact name in your phone book and it will dial it accordingly. If you don't have the name, then the command "Digit Dial" will do just fine as well.

One thing I just do not like about this phone is the fact that adding contacts can be increasingly difficult for someone who does not understand the interface. There is a lot of button punching, group sorting, etc. that you have to do for the phone.

I give this phone 4 out of 5. I believe that this is the perfect phone for people who want some cool features like voice commands, have the ability to do a lot with a phone, making phone calls with ease, and having a dependable phone that gets great reception with a company who does not always perform up to the highest standards. The Motorola V262 is a perfect phone for anyone who wants the basics, and much more.

I'll be the first to say that I LOVE my Motorola V262 phone. I had a Nokia 3585i which was a great phone, but this one is probably even better. The size is right, features are great, and service is bar none awesome even in the sticks where I spend much of my time. I'd recommend this phone anyday.

We have purchased 5 Motorola V262s that have been used by 3 people during our 2 year contract term with Alltel. ALL of them have had problems with either the earpiece or the mouthpiece. I have swapped parts among them, which helps for a while, but there appears to be a serious design flaw with them.

I love that ebay is such a great way to replace needed items. I live in a rural area, 60 miles from shopping. I needed this phone to replace my dying one.... It was easy to locate, review, research and purchase, not to mention, easy to receive.... just check the mailbox!! thanks ebay!

I love the reception being out in the middle of nowhere and hard to keep a signal with most cell phones. This one works very well and can almost call from anywhere, has good antenna range.

This phone is pretty decent. It doesn't have very many features that I use and is not a blackberry if you are looking for text messaging, etc... It is a basic flip cell phone that does what it needs to do. It has many other options in it but I do not need anything too fancy since I just need it to use for the mobile phone portion. For that I give it a 5/5 (Excellent). Figuring that most people might look at it for some of its additional features, I give it a 4/5 (Good). This is because it is not as easy to use for calendars, text messaging, etc... for a novice user. Good phone. Recommend if you just need a phone and rarely use anything else.

I bought this phone because my other one broke on me after 1 1/4 years and I still have 9 months left on my cell plan with alltell. I have been very happy with this phone other than the mouthpiece seemingly going out on my first phone. One of my favorite features is the "name dial" where after you just put names into the memory you push the name dial button and say those names and it just works so great when you say the names. It is very convenient and works great! My hubby had a different brand of phone and wished he had gotten the same one as me once he saw how great this feature worked. Easy to program and to operate. The battery could last longer, though, in my opinion.

This phone is one i have and like it's light weight and easy to handle,screen just a little on the small side, and sometimes the speaker part of the phone is not loud enough, but still a all around good phone for the cost. If were to compair phones with motorola and LG, the LG. The lg is a better phone as far as clear voice goes and large screen would be a much better phone.This was third phone after alltel found they had a bad lot had Problems with speaker and still have trouble with name dialing.I have to repeat several times and then still have trouble and you might be better off just dialing the number

I lost my brand new phone, was under contract with my provider, not eligible for discount on another phone. This was a great bargin and benefit. I won't ever sign a long-term contract again to get an affordable phone.

It's a nice phone but I think a person expects more from a name like Motorola. I live in an area with poor reception for Alltel but my Nokia 3585i had better reception. The ease of it's functions gives it a plus, and it is a neat looking phone which can serve as a modem for a laptop. All in all I find it average as a cell phone.

they sent a phone with bad battery and would make it right will not buy from him again emailed and he said he would not help with it he said it had enough power to turn it on we all know that it doesnt take much power to turn it on

Works very good even in low signal areas. A good, basic, no nonesense phone. Activation was very, very easy.

These are a great solid phone if you do not need a camera phone & all that garbage. Great phone with good basic features. I love mine & it is tough too. Mine has been dropped a lot & never fails me at all.

Although this model (V262) is no longer available from ALLTEL or the other wireless providers the V262 remains a solid and reliable phone. I have one and my spouse does too. Batteries are not available from retail sources but eBay and other online sellers have them (only buy new!)Chargers and a host of accessories are also available from online sources. $50 or $60 bucks for a very good cell phone is not much to pay.

This is my 2nd V262. The 1st one didn't stand up very well on a trip through the washing machine. I bought a reconditioned phone on ebay for much less than I could get one through Alltel. Because I wasn't close to the end of my contract they wanted me to pay full retail price. They were very helpful with instructions to reprogram my number. The phone has great features and lots of options. I live in a semi-rural area. There are occasional dead spots with no coverage. I'm farsighted. My up close vision isn't real good. The only negative is the display is a little small.

I've had this phone for about three weeks now and so far it works good. I feel it was an good value, and would buy another phone off e-bay in the future.

I actually owned 2 of these phones already that is why I picked this phone. Unfortunately, it worked great for a few weeks then I began having tons of problems. The screen shuts off. I have no service most of the time.Loses battery power quickly. I recently had one warranteed through Altell and that one is also "acting up". If you can guarantee that you can "baby" your phone 100% of the time then I would suggest this one. I may have just got a couple of lemon phones but, I think the odds are pretty good that the phone just isnt that good.

connection poor very choppy. Volume sucks even when you have it as high as it goes you cant hear a thing so I am forced to use speakerphone. Will never buy another Moto.

The phone crackled and made conversation harder than it already naturaly is, I would not recommend this model although I might have gotten a bad one.

That phone you sent me didn't even work. I Need To Speak With you because i spent 40 bucks on that and i haven't got any money back yet. and i if i dont soon i will be talking to my lawyer.
