I get some laughs these days about this rather primitive looking phone but it serves me well. Sure, no fancy ringtones, can't take pictures, plastic case. But for someone looking for a reliable, easy-to-use, lightweight, and compact phone for emergencies or infrequent use, the V170 can't be beat. Small and light enough to fit in a pocket or a purse. Have never had a problem connecting and I live in a rural area. I've also had good luck with TracFone's customer service.

Trading up from an old Nokia with Tracfone service. Love the size, looks, operation, and features of this phone. I realize it is not one of the newest cosmic phones that takes photos, puts you to bed and calls your mother automatically but I like it alot.<p>The belt clip is secure. The home and car chargers work quickly. The screen is colorful and informative. The buttons have nice colors.<p>I wish there was a way to get the backlight to stay on longer than 20 seconds. Other than that I am very happy with the price and the phone for my use.<p>Cannot say the same for Tracfone. Their customer service is in Pakistan or the Phillipines and not helpful. You have no recourse with those folks. they will take your money whether your service is working or not. But it is still the cheapest i can find without a long term monthly commitment.

I love this phone! It is a flip phone that I bought as a replacement phone.It has many features,but not so many you are overwhelmed,nor does it have so many usless features,you don't need or want.It's small and compact and fits right into your pocket or purse,taking up very little room.If you are looking for a small flip phone with simple useful features,or just as a first time cell phone,then I would recomend the Motorola V170.Oh yeah ... you can't beat the price or quality,especially if you are lucky enough to win the bid on one on ebay :-)

EASY TO USE AND SEE. I HAD A SMALL NOKIA 1600, WAS ALWAYS HITTING WRONG KEYS WHEN TRYING TO MAKE CALLS. BOUGHT TWO OTHERS FOR FAMILY MEMBERS. FITS IN POCKETS AND PURSES WITH OUT BEING BULKY. NICE PHONE NO MONTHLY BILL.

I decided to buy this particular tracfone because it is a flip phone.My old one was not a flip and buttons would get pushed while it was in my purse, the face gets dirty etc. This track phone fits nicely into my purse or even pants pockets. There is nothing about this phone that I dislike, I have been very satisfied.

we bought this phone for our 13 year old son. it is a very nice , we were looking for a flip phone for him. the only thing i didn't like was the fact that it did not come with a SIMS card. just be sure when start to purchase products that you check to see what it has & what it doesn't.

I am glad I boght this phone. It is user-friendly and easy to use. I was lucky enough to find a black one which I prefer over silver. It is sleek and small, but perfect for someone who just needs a phone, without all the bells and whistles. Transferring minutes through tracfone is no small feat, so I suggest you just activate it like a new phone instead of an upgrade or transfer.

This is the best phone I've ever used - compact, easy to navigate...even my 74 year old mother can use it - after her stroke! If she can use it, anyone can! it's easy to see, easy to understand - the best phone I've ever owned!

I have since bought a new v170 tracfone. First, the old phone that I purchased had to have a new sim card that was mailed to me after many phone calls and weeks waiting. Second, the phone had a faulty part that beeped during any phone calls that I made. Third, the party I purchased it from insisted (3 emails) that I give him my address. (Like he couldn't trust pay-pal)I will never buy a used phone again.

We use tracfone because we live in a small area and don't have to use them alot other than contacting each other or if one of us gos out of town. We have been very happy with the trac fones and their service.

I bought this tracfone v170 because I previosly owned one and it was wonderful! To replace it didn't cost alot. I gave my old one to my child. I like the way it looks, performs, and handles. I never have any trouble with this model. I would definintly recomend this phone. It is also a very stylish phone to have.

Love tracfone!! Have had them for several years. Serves my needs perfectly. I needed the Motorola V170 for compatability with my existing accessories. Could not find them at tracfone.com or in the stores.

motorla V170 TracFone is a good titileI purchase this tracfone for my son, who is turning 13 next month. We have been pricing them in the stores. When I saw this one, it look like my son. The seller was very patient and understanding when i told him/her that my wallet was stolen out of my car. I would tell my friends about the tracfone and that they need to get one.

This is a great little phone from Tracfone...I personally have not had any problems with Tracfone customer service. I like this phone because it is easy to use, it is small and when you receive text messages, is does not deduct units, only when you send a text message. I can even text family and friends in the U.K. whereas with the newer Tracfones, I am unable to receive text messages from overseas. Overall I have no problems at all with the phone or the service, and the battery on this phone lasts a long time before needing to be recharged. Only downfall is that it doesn't have a camera, but I have a digital camera for taking pictures, don't need one on my mobile phone.
