Cute inexpensive phone for non-hi-tech-minded ladies

Very simple but very elegant thing for very reasonable price. Exactly what I need for my wife who avoids sohisticated gadgets. With its candy-bar design the L2 looks quite reliable in contrast to her previous slider (its ribbon cable moving back and forth inside finally cracked). The quad-band GSM technology makes L2 world-wide usable - just change SIM-cards. Maybe it's one of the best choices among the low-budget phones. But those who care about features try to look for smth. else.

These phones are simple and cheap and tough. Great for our company. We are a construction company that needs to keep its communications simple yet tough and theses little phones are perfect!

This is nothing more than a phone. No camera, etc. I look for excellent reception and long battery life. This phone is average in regards to both.

  nothing spectacular

Nothing so spectacular about the phone.
It works, although I do not like the location of the microphone. I had to be careful where I place it so that the person on the other end can hear me properly. Sometimes, the speaker is not so good.
For the money and for basic calls, the piece will do.
I wonder if motorola is giving up on making great phones. Recently, I have used other motorola phones and accessory and I was not so impressed.

  Motorola SLVR L2 (AT&T) *unlocked
Review created: 08/02/09

this phone is a cool looking thin candybar style, simple to use, and FUN to use, with the 'phone tools' program! i love making my own ringtones and making videos to send, as well as neat photo albums, which include animations, and the ability to add your own 'theme song'! (check out the phone tools, which is not included, by the manufacturer unfortunately and is a little pricey)

strictly speaking as a phone goes, for making calls:
1. it has the best battery i have ever seen, it holds a charge well over the time that any of previous phones have.
2. it has a speakerphone that is equally as impressive as the quality of the battery. it is loud, but stays without the distortion that most phones have.
3. I love the large, colorful display. I have to wear reading glasses, and it's a PAIN because most phones don't have a display i can see, without digging the glasses out, and ultimately "missing" the call, or answering it "blindly", and risking having to talk to someone whom could of been avoided, lol...

the only thing i find negative about the phone, is that being a bar-type, it gets active in my pockect/purse, dialing....
sure, i could "lock" the keypad, but then, by time i Unlock it, the call has been sent to voicemail, such is the case, for me atleast,...
just seems like there could be a thin cover, that can be lifted, (like a slider phone) or some sort of pouch that is not UGLY and OVERPriCED lol, like i've found...
hmmm,...

i like this phone enough to have replaced it, after losing the original one i purchased. I was bummed for losing the phone, i had it all dialed in with my music/videos/pictures!

4.5 stars.

The Moto SLVR L@ AT&T is a solid phone for anyone.

While most phones on the market these days have the nice cameras along with all the other bells and whistles, the L2 comes very standard, but if you're into making calls, it will more than please you. Here's what I found with it:

PROS
nice screen, very bright and vivid and easy to see outside
size; this thing fits ANYWHERE and is thinner than the RAZR!
weight; VERY light
feel; metal casing (like RAZR# is very sturdy, yet light, buttons feel solid
reception; GREAT
speakerphone/call volume; louder than RAZR
ringtones; comes with TONS, plus is loud and clear #sunshine is COOL)
battery; VERY long
memory; 10mb is enough with not having a camera
bluetooth
mobile email

CONS
no camera

OVERALL
GREAT phone for the money especially and is one of the better MOTO's out there I think. I've had TONS of phones, including Motorola's, and this one is among the best I've dealt with.

The phone has nice features including blue tooth, usb connect and speaker phone. Some of the feature don't work with t-mobile as far as I can tell. Good phone for the price I believe at&t user would enjoy benefits of phone much more.
