Instead of reading 'copy and paste' reviews from others about the Motorola Q, read this review from someone who has one.

I got the Q from work and was immediately impressed with it's size. It's thin, almost RAZR thin. After all, it's from the same company know for it's hot phones. The talk time and stand-by time are good so far, and it has a bunch of other features you are looking for. It has a full QWERTY keyboard, Bluetooth, and a 1.3 megapixel phone. it also runs Windows Mobile 5, which is why I got it through work. I can check Outlook email as well as set up my other web-based email and any other POP3 accounts.

If you are Big and Tall like me, the Q won't disappoint. it's not too small, and the keyboard is big enough for larger hands. When talking, the phone feels good, it isn't too small, like most candy-bar style phones. Call quality is great.

Named after the tech gadget guru in all the Bond movies, the Motorola Q is definitely the must have gadget of the year.

PROS: Thin, full QWERTY keyboard, Bluetooth, 1.3 megapixel camera

CONS: Can't set up to use internet with Wi-Fi network

The Most Versatile Phone I Have Ever Owned.
Review created: 06/15/07

I must Say, There isn't one thing I dislike about this phone.

It is easy to navigate, lite, convenient and well worth every penny.

I am on the road a lot. I need to be in front of a computer just as often, but getting this phone allowed me to save time, stay out of the office and ultimately be far more efficient in my day-to-day life, whether work or personal.

I traded up my motorola e815 and my dell axim50 for this model phone. The name motoroala is associated with quality and this phone lives up to that reputation. I love the thin sleek lines and it is very easy to use despite the small packing. The keyboard is small but is a typewriter keyboard and you will be surprised how easily even the largest fingers (my husband's) will assimilate. BUT - i miss my axim and the ablility to customize my schedule. I also miss the ability to write notes but to have one pda/smartphone worth the sacrifice. I don't like the initial set up offered by motorola. The book and CD seemed more interested in helping me sync rather than to figure out what all the icons mean - if you are smart enough to use PDA you will figure it out after trial and error. I miss the downloaded ringers (Verizon) and I miss the multiple alarms from my 815. Overall i give this phone 8.5 - hope you like it too

I like the style and size of the cell phone. However, the battery life is AWEFUL!!! You have to charge the phone throughout the day if you use your phone often.

  AWESOME PHONE!! GET ONE!!
Review created: 11/29/06

Hello Everyone,

I purchased this phone through verizon and I must say it's the best smartphone ever!! Its less than half an inch thick and weighs almost nothing. Sometimes I forget it's even in my pocket. What made me buy this phone over other smartphones is:

1) The cost - now only $99.99 w/2 year agreement through verizon.
2) The features - has all the features the palm treos do, accept you cannot edit word documents, you can only view them. That is just about the only thing that differs from the palm treos. Everything else is in the Q.
3) THE GAMES!! I've actually uploaded classic games from my computer such as Super Mario, Zelda, Pacman, and many other titles. IT'S EASY TO DO AND TAKES NO MORE THAN LIFTING A FINGER!!

These are my 3 main reasons why I chose this phone. Why buy a Treo? It's BIG, BULKY, and WEIGHS so much. The screen on those phones are small, not bright, but the Q's are.

BOTTOM LINE: If you're looking for a phone with features, AWESOME digital camera quality, DESCENT PROCESSING SPEED, and LOW COST, than the Motorola Moto Q may be right for you!!

Motorola Q - not quite the "all-in-one," but close!
Review created: 11/24/06

Ah, the Q has arrived. Packaged with a 1.3MP camera/video camera 640x480, Wireless Sync, 1xEV-DO/1xRTT data, Windows Mobile 5.0, Bluetooth functionality and A2DP (allowing you to listen to music using a stereo Bluetooth headset), 64MB onboard RAM, miniSD slot, and QWERTY keyboard (hence the name of the Q), it's sure to turn heads.

Also, for the Blackberry fans and what not, it is thinner than the current RAZR that swept the cell phone industry three years ago, and has a thumbwheel allowing you to scroll through menus and files.

I really enjoy Windows Mobile 5.0 for one simple reason: volatility! If you happen to forget to charge the handset, it won't lose your data as other PDAs may. Definitely a plus. And the SD allows you to carry your files with you by not boggling down your onboard memory for the Q.

Overall, the Q feels solid and easy to hold in your hand, and on VZW's 3G network, you can be virtually anywhere without missing a beat or email.

The only reason I vote this 4/5 is because with a lot of files or applications open, the Q lags meaning you have to close them down in Settings by shutting down the applications. And no tap screen/stylus means you will scroll to reach every menu on the device (not necessarily bad, but can be a bit less intuitive).

For the poweruser in you? Yes, you should get the Q...at least some functionality away from the laptop is worthwhile, right? ;-)

Motorola Q - Not what I was expecting
Review created: 10/29/06

It's thin. It has a QWERTY keyboard. It's light. It's bluetooth. Blah Blah Blah Blah LaDeeFreakinDa

I got rid of it within 2 days of getting it. Why? Well, the fact I had to add an additional plan to my Verizon account for $24.99 a month which gave me 10MB of data usage (not really a whole lot). I couldn't log into my yahoo e-mail or set up wireless sync very easily. Found out why after 2 hours on hold with Customer Care (let me tell you how friendly and knowledgeable they AREN'T)...if I wanted to access my yahoo mail account, I would need to sign up for a YAHOO MAIL PLUS account for $19.99 a month.

If they don't hit you one way, they hit you another.

The PDA does NOT have Get it Now and if you are going from a phone where you have downloaded or liked to download songs and applications...get over it. You will lose them all. The ringtones on the phone are OK, but setting up the phone and ringtones is not the most user friendly. I came from a long line of LG phones and loved them. They are pretty much idiot-proof. Not that I am an idiot...I just have too many other things to do with my life (including chasing after a 2 1/2 year old, working and running a small business) to spend hours tweaking a PDA.

I was not impressed.

  Motorola Q - Owners Review
Review created: 10/13/06
1 of 3 people found this review helpful.

First off I do own a motorola Q phone and I originally bought it because my RAZR broke and I needed a phone with internet technology. So let me tell you what I really like about this phone.

PROS
Mobile Email and Internet (Always stay in touch)
Ability to sync up using active sync
Runs pocket windows which allows you to install applications
Never have to buy ring tones because this allows you to drag and drop music into the folder.

CONS
Had to buy upgraded battery because out of box battery life was terrible.
Had to purchase screen protector.
Can't figure out how to lock the keys.
