The phone is top of the line and is very user freindly. The only draw back is the service provider being Nextel and not have adequate service area for the phone to use all of its power. The camera takes great pictures and the speaker being one of the first flip phones to put the speaker in the front so that you can hear on direct connect better. Over all I give the phone a 5 and the service provider a 2.

The i580 is awsome! It just about has it all camera/video, multimedia, walkie talkie, and best of all it meets military standards. So if your like me, toss the phone around, drop it more than a handfull of times, spill soda on it, or just use it alot in a construction area. This just takes a lickin and just keeps on ticking. I've gone thru a lot of other nextel phones with military standards, but not as cool as this one. All the other phones are out of date on features. This phone has a SD memory card slot to save data, is bluetooth compatible, 1.3 megapixel camera, and (my favorite) it's splash proof. This phone somehow fell into a bowl of soup. I just pick it up, wiped it clean with a water soaked napkin, and just started playing with the phone to make sure it was all O.K., make phone calls, walkie talkie. Everything was working fine.
So if you need a cell phone that just about does it all and handle it all. This is the phone you must get.

Nice radio, sturdy, bright LCD, what i like is that i can use it in rough terrain, and it will hold perfectly.

A cell phone that I purchased on ebay.I purchases a motorola I580 cell phone for a birthday gift for my husband. This is not the first one of this type of phone that he has had. He was so pleased with it that he wanted another one like it. The first one that he had we paid about three times as much for it through nextel, so I was happy to get it at the price that I did. The phone was just as the seller described it to be and it did not take long to get it. If not for the fact that I made the purchase on a Friday the phone would have been here in just a couple of days, but it did comes on the second week day after the purchase. I will be back to ebay for future purchases of cell phone as I have already purchased 4 including this buy. I have purchased about 40 to 65 different things in the last 8 months. Before I buy anything now I check with ebay to get the prices and shipping to compare with other stores and avenues. I am now hooked on ebay.

I bought this phone because in the ad he said it had a simlock on it and that it would be easy to fix. I found out that it has a software issue and liquid damage so the phone is useless to me and he won't refund me.

I had a second chance offer for this item and I got dupped! They took my money and now I have no phone. I filed a complaint and went through paypal to get my money back. So hopefully I will get it back. If you ever see someone with low feedback number double and triple check. Unfortunately this one had 100% positive when I bid and won the item. Now they are no longer a registered user and feedback went way down!

My husband has wanted one of these phones since they came out and when you are an existing customer a new product like this is very expensive. I was able to purchase the phone for a reasonable price and not have to extend our contract for another 2 years. Thanks again.

I580 picture phone/mp3
) Great phone, super features, easy to use. I would recommend this phone to contractors or for rugged use. I am on my second one only because my wife decided to wash the phone in a pair of my pants. It will not take a 30 minute cycle from a Maytag but will stand up to rain and dirt and vibration. I leave the phone in the toolbox of my chipper when chipping brush and have had no problems, also have dropped the phone from heights of 40' plus with no damage.

this is one tuff phonei dropped this phone about three stories and it still works perfect. i have had phones that i have dropped three feet and broke. i hope this helps you when you have to make a phone choice.

Buyer Beware!!My experience w this Seller was horrid. Period.
They are unscrupulous and lack business morals and ethics. Nextel/Sprint has filed a complaint w the Seller as well.
I would think 5 times before doing business w Seller. Had they been in California, i would've taken them to Small Claims Court and handily won.

This phone is awesome because it is a tough phone. It is durable, can withstand dropping, rain and dust. I talk a lot on my phone and the battery lasted two whole days before I had to charge it (that's being on throughout the night as well). The phone has everything I need on it and more such as: assignable ring tones and pictures, memory card, large phone memory, camera, datebook, MP3 audio player and bluetooth. I love this phone so much that my husband is selling his I930 and is buying this phone.

I heard this was a great phone, So I bought it. I have not activated it yet, but will be shortly. I hope I didn't buy, and find out I bought a lemon, sense I wont be activating it for another few weeks. If I did... you'll know about it. But no complaint so far. Great and timely shipper.

I bought the Motorola i580 because I needed a new phone, plus I wanted to upgrade, I like the phone alot, it has good speaker volume, the camera is good I guess, I did'nt buy the phone for the camera.
I like the fact that it has a mirco SD Card to store music & pictures on.
One thing that bugges me is it takes to long to power up after a shut down.
I like the rubber coating on the phone.
I really like the pnone on a scale from 1 to 10 (1) being poor I give it a 9.
But it from ebay, that's were you'll find the lowest price.

I really haven't had the phone long enough to give a complete review. So far however, it's everthing that I thought it would be. The reason I bought it was the durability. Other people I work with have the phone and I've seen it dropped, kicked and even get wet and it still worked fine. My original phone was a company phone that I didn't pay for but, I wanted an upgrade. I turned to E-Bay and looked for this phone. Once I found one at the price I was willing to pay it was just a matter of switching the sim card. All good since than.

I commute long distances as a construction electrician,so I needed a phone that was bluetooth capable and also had direct connect features. So the I580 seemed perfect. It went for a good price and I am very pleased with this auction purchase!

the motorola i580 is a military to grandma grade phone!everybody can use a phone like the motorola i580. it has a good resale value, and up to date tech.. the motorola i580 has a military rating witch means grandma's to the roughest grandsons can use this GREAT handset.
