Motorola I580 (Unlocked)

The phone is top of the line and is very user freindly. The only draw back is the service provider being Nextel and not have adequate service area for the phone to use all of its power. The camera takes great pictures and the speaker being one of the first flip phones to put the speaker in the front so that you can hear on direct connect better. Over all I give the phone a 5 and the service provider a 2.

I am a Deputy Sheriff and if anyone needs a phone that can be run throught the elements and get banged around it is Law enforcement and construction workers. It does not matter if it gets dropped on the side of the road in the pouring rain, kicked around in a scuffle, jumping fences on a foot pursuit falling in the mud this phone keeps keeps on running. There was even a man that drove over top of his phone in the nextel parking lot (of course by mistake) and the only thing damaged was the outter screen. Yes believe it or not it still works. The only torture I haven't put it through is shooting it with my sidearm. It quite possibly may be bullet proof. Very satisfied with its performance.

EXCELLENT PHONE. ONLY DISLIKE IS THAT PHONE SEEMS TO DRAIN BATTERY FASTER THAN IT SHOULD. THE DISPLAY AND CAMERA QUALITY ARE OUTSTANDING.

Works perfectly!!! Very durable and I've dropped this thing from 20 feet high and it still functions. Great for the construction site. Toughest phone on the market currently and it shows.

The phone was all it said it would be and more. I enjoy all the benefits of it and more. It just gives more and more. The only con is that the exterior display goes out after a certain amount of time. I've had mine for 2 mos. and it went out. I called the service center and there is a nationwide back order on the part. The rep. told me its been 2 weeks on back order! Sounds like Motorola fell behind! Hope this helps!

If you are looking at a nextel phone, this is by far the best phone that I have found. It has all kinds of cool features, such as a 1.2mp camera, bluetooth, telenav (overrated), and the best of all I have dropped this thing got mad and thrown this thing, and it still works. It is by far the most durable phone that I have ever had. I have owned it approximately 2-3 months and can't seem to hurt it. The phone has one little mark on the rubber where I ran over it with my truck, but it is virtually industructable. Although, it is not the most appealing phone by its looks but it sure gets the job done.

If you're in the market for a Nextel phone and your're looking for the most durable, feature packed phone on the market the i580 is IT!

I'm a general contractor and use the phone daily on the job. Mine's been dropped, dusted, muddied, beat up, fallen out the truck, you name it. NO DAMAGE. Bluetooth and the camera are a God send on this phone. Phone talks to my PDA and laptop an lets me leave a $1000 digital camera at home...

This is supposed to be the most undestructible phone on the market. Not hardly. It has stopped working on me twice. Also because I bought it on the internet, I can not get insurance on it. Thats really a shame since I paid close to 300.00 for it.

this is the newest nextel beast ,with video camera rugged walkie talkie the best thing since slice bread and the deal was just as sweet all i can say is Parlaywizard Came Up On ebay.....holla

buyer beaware that these i 580 phones are bought overseas and canot be registered they do not tell you until after you try and register it with nextel the numbers do not match up so if you buy one ask if nextel will register this phone

I bought this after doing a fair amount of research. I was replacing an i560-yellow. The operation of each is basically the same but the i580 does seem to retain a signal a bit better in what are the marginal areas for Nextel. I did the upgrade to have the ability to take a picture. If I know I'm going to possibly want to take REAL pictures, I would take my camera with me (parties, family events, weddings...). There have been times however, when I wish I had a camera and I didn't. This is a fix for thet kind of time. Internet capability for $10.00 a month is a cheap investment also. The whole internet on a cell phone is very limited, however. It is a nice short term (in a pinch) quality. So far (2 weeks +), I am glad I bought it. I did also buy the extended battery + cover due to the internet thingie as this does drain the stock battery fairly quickly. Happy with the investment!

This is a heavy duty phone. Maybe it is the most resistent equipment for Nextel. Some customers had to buy a new phone every 3 months. I have customers with i580 with more than 6 months, and the phone is working perfectly.

The item and transaction were perfect. However, The phone and sim card that came with is had the lost or stolen status on it.

I have gone through i90c, i830, i850 and now on to this one. I absolutely love it. I have never owned a rugged phone but I like the fact that if it falls or gets wet I don't have to really worry about it.

-Old SIM cards do not work with i580 and the Nextel SIM card copy device has a hard time duplicating numbers onto new card

This phone is top of the line: Super Cristal Clear Loud Speaker, i don't need a headset or headphone to listen to my MP3's, you can actually print a 5x7 clear picture by programing the phone to take max picture which is 1280X1024 pixels. can handle even a 2 gig of microSD memory card so you can store hundreds of music and pics in it. I'm a construction contractor and i've dropped, spilled coffee on it, dusted, muddied, I use a 150 PSI compressor blower to undusted it, my one year old son plays with it, trows it on the floor, you name it. no damage at all. I will never own another phone.

My husband works with someone who has this phone. He works as an equimpent operator and loves it. I bought it for him. Now I want one.

This phone is great. Lets just say it takes a beating and keeps working like a gem. Its been dropped, Had stuff spilled on it. and It takes the abuse from the harsh environments it gets subjected to. All I have to say its a top notch phone,

I think this is one of the best motorola phones out there so functional and durable. the best of the best!!!!!!!!

So far these cell phones are acting very well. Decided to go with the refurbished units because #1. the cost and #2 they were refurbished and not just a used cell phone. I think that refurbishing give you a cleaner phone.

I bought this phone because in the ad he said it had a simlock on it and that it would be easy to fix. I found out that it has a software issue and liquid damage so the phone is useless to me and he won't refund me.

GREAT PHONE AND SERVICE WAS OK.THERE IS NOTHING BAD ABOUT THIS PHONE.IT MADE A GREAT GIFT TO MY SON.
