Motorola I355 (Unlocked)

Well I debated getting one for about a month before I actually got one. I had wanted to upgrade to a color-display phone from my older I305. But I didn't want to lose the ruggedness of that style phone. I had a flip-style phone before and it began working erratically within the first month of use (maybe it was just my phone, but I was not rough on it). Anyway, the I305 I had was a good phone, it lasted very well and worked great.

I really like my I355, it works really well. The screen is pretty easy to read and it has alot of features that my previous phones have not had. The reception is good, I get a signal almost anywhere, except very remote regions of my area. The battery lasts good and the buttons are easy to find and light up well. It's easy to hear on speakerphone as well as private. There are two things that I dislike about this phone are: the fact that when my friends send me pictures I can't set them as wallpaper, and I can't set the picture to show-up when that particular person calls. This could use up too much memory however, which might explain why that isn't possible. Even with that, I would highly recommend this phone to someone who works in a wet, dusty, and/or harsh environment..and wants a phone with some actual features to enjoy instead of just a plain-jane phone.

The i355 is a great phone. It is something you won't have to worry about if you drop it or use it in any weather. I bought this phone to replace my other i355 that i misplaced.

I bought this as a replacement phone. My company currently owns 7 of this brand and model. They are the most durable phone that I have found. I run a General Contracting company and the phone is constantly in a dirty, rugged environment. I have had phones fall off vehicles at 30 mph and still work. Currently, have two that are still working after 2 years.....I would recommend to anyone.

I like its durability , dependability , and signal ! Its kinda on the big and bulky side but thats what makes it so durable . A flip phone is nice but too fragile , they break all the time .

I cannot find anything wrong with this phone. It is well built. The speaker and all tones are loud enough. I can hear people well on the speaker. It is far superior to the i255 that I formerly owned. It is not too bulky compared to the i58sr which I also tried. The i355 works well, the buttons are not whimpy, and the display is fine for me.

my husband needed a phone that would stand up to his line of work. so when we found this phone we couldn't pass it up. so far, this phone has been the best item we've bought on ebay!

I liked the price of the item, I bought it just in case my other ptt phone brakes or something, more like a emergency or back up phone, I like this phone the way they look and the signal are great

This is the phone that my grandson uses all the time. It is a very durable phone and it holds up for him very well.

The phone is very rugged, I bought it for my boyfriend who is a carpenter. He hates flip phones & wanted a very tough phone, it's perfect for him!

I bought the I355 Pphone two weeks ago and was immediately impressed with the number of features available on this phone. It has a speakerphone. The battery has a pretty good lifespan of roughly 4 hours. My only complaint is that the cosmetic condition it's a little dirty and very signs of use. Other phones I've owned have a better presentation. Overall, I'd recommend the phone if you're on a budget.

This phone was exactly what I needed and just as advertised. Iwould definetly buy from this seller again.

I abuse my phone and the nextel I-3 series, are about the best I've had thusfar.
drop it off the roof, run it over with a wheelbarrel, drop it anywhere, any way you want. any higher series (meaning flip phone)and i am likely to sit or crush the phone when it can drop and end up open. i keep the belt clip on it or keep it in tupperware in my toolbelt to keep grease and crud off it( and also keep grease off my ear and cheek)
you can drop it on the beach and call it form another phone and it will be there ready to go. sand is by far the worst thing for a phone, and every single grain must be cleaned away, i use an old toothbrush at the end of any given day. one grain of sand near a seal and water will get in. i used an extarnal antenna adapter to use a remote antenna up on the mast of my boat helps add another bar or two, but still isn't going to work everywhere. hands down the I355 is the hi end model, but i would actually rate the 325 or 315 tougher - mainly because of the easy to read LCD screen, but if you want (to see, NOT take) pictures, the I355 is it.
sorry nextel guys isnt the best service, but urban to suburban it works for me. i cant say nextel service is great anywhere i go, but i wish this type of whone was available to other services, then - we would have something. i am feeling the jitterbug is better than any other flip phone and would rate that higher than the other high end nextels. although the i3 series are superior. only the 315 with 325 antenna would rate a bit better than the i355.
you cant say enough good about direct connect or digital walkie talkie, if you use those options...

as far as i know nextel is in the 866mhz band the lowest freq in use, eveyone else is 1.0 - 1.2GHZ not sure how that will cause those tumors? any more or anyless.... but dont know of any take an external antenna.

I BOUGHT THE MOTOROLA I355 PHONES FOR NEXTEL ABOUT THREE WEEKS AGO THE PHONES IS PERFECTO TO MY JOB THE BATTERY HAS A PRETTY GOOD LIFESPAN THE PHONES HAVE A REALLY NICE DESIGN FOR RUDE USE. I REALLY RECOMENDED

When not using the network you can utilize the radio function and set as an off-network walkie-talkie. Worked great during Spring Break at South Padre Island, Texas -when experiencing network issues due to visiting nextel subscribers from Mexico. Just had to set all of my friends nextel phones on the same channel and we were good to go! We were all communicating within a 3 mile radius without a problem.

And that's just one of the features of this phone. You also get a battery that lasts throughout the day and great service when used on the Nextel direct connect service.

Very satisfied with this product and would highly recommend. If you find one for sale you will not be disappointed.

I bought two of these phones one for me and one for my husband. They worked well, dropped a thousand times and still worked great. The display is nice and clear and the ringtone selection was an upgrade from our old nextels. They are a bit on the large size but well worth it for the durability and performance.

Phone seems to have better transmission/receive capability than other Nextel phones that I have used. I was told by a Nextel rep that this phone (i355) has a larger base at it's antenna (inside phone) than most others, which enables better reception/transmission in fringe areas. The speaker on the phone is much louder with less distortion than other phones. It is a very rugged phone and should hold up to accidental abuses. It is definitely not a pocket phone being larger and heaver than most, however this makes it harder to misplace. Overall, an excellent,very rugged cell phone with basic features.

The phone works great! The only real issue I have is that the battery seems to die quickly sometimes and last a couple of days other times. I know it has a lot to do with signal strength, back light, and just basic use but, it is still unpredictable.

All in all, I am very happy with it.
