DSR922 - is a single-box solution that integrates the features of an analog and digital receiver into a single satellite receiver to control dish positioning and signal reception. Replacing an analog receiver with the DSR922 4DTV unit gives the C-Band user access to more than 200 channels of digital programming, in addition to the 300+ analog channels. The 4DTV receiver's easy viewer menu system provides detailed information about current and future programs, and lets users select programming and customize their favorite channel line-ups. Other system features include automatic control of satellite movies, free software downloads, digital audio outputs, and, in combination with the Motorola HDD-200 high-definition decoder, four channels of high-definition programming.

    Anyone who has used a DSR 920 and liked it is practically required to upgrade to this model. The DSR 922 is a necessity to anyone who still has the "B.U.D." (big ugly dish) and likes it.

    I bought this one because my DSR 920 had technically expired. It had run the course of the life of the battery (9-12 years)and the unit was rendered useless.

    The prices of programming for these receivers can't be beat and the picture is exquisite. I was determined to find a DSR922 but its not the easiest to find one of these units since they are no longer made.

    This one I bought used and it arrived exceptionally well packed. I set it up, programmed the satellites in with lots of help from the manual and my service provider. I called my programming source and the unit picked up where my old one left off with a few additions.

    My old unit was not able to get all of the digital channels offered by the movie services. This one can. The programming guide looks different than the old unit as this guide has color-not just the monotone gray.

    It works very similar to the old unit and even the old remote works with it just the same.

    I really, really recommend this unit if you want to continue using your backyard satellite dish.
