MotorStorm (Playstation 3, 2007)

This game has insane graphics, killer sound, superb vehicle handling, a wide selection of bikes/dune buggys/cars, courses that deteriorate as the race goes on..you name it!!!!! I seriously do not see ANY flaws with this game.

As a PS3 exclusive, this game (along with many others. i.e. Metal Gear Solid 4, Killzone, Final Fantasy, Assassin's Creed, Heavenly Sword, Lair, God of War III, SoCom IV, Ratchet & Clank....the list goes on and on and on) will pump some life into the otherwise tepid lineup of launch games for the Playstation 3. This game is just the beginning of a killer line-up of exclusives that will hit the PS3 this year! If you already have a PS3, you're sitting pretty right now cause there are SO MANY good games to come!

If you're still debating about whether or not to shell out $600 on getting a PS3, I highly recommend you do because this is the future of gaming.

Aside from Halo 3, the Xbox 360 has a very very weak line-up of exclusive games. You can check out any gaming website and see for yourself! I particularly like the online article that gamepro did. They compared the 3 systems out right now (PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii) and the PS3 won first place.

The In Car View is Simply awesome.
It was harder to get used to driving with the In Car View at first, but I got used to it and it makes the game better in my opinion. If you haven't tried it, hit the Triangle Button now and try a few races in that view, you'll never switch back.

Dust on the Windshield, Mud, Ohhhh Lots of Mud, and it piles up on my Ride as the Game Progresses. Mudd... Pretty. OK, I can't believe I am this excited about Mud... It is almost as bad as when I got excited about the Sweat in NBA2K6 on my 360.

It is also neat how the Track Deforms in Realtime.
Trucks make Bigger grooves in the mud making it rough riding for the Bikes and ATVs. Next Lap, the Tracks remain the way they were, and progress with each Lap.

Debris Everywhere too. Oops... Hit a Car... Cool, I just plowed it out of the way. Knocked down a Fence, Oops Hit a Pile of Cars. Now here is the Big Dilemma. Do I hit X and the Trigger and Get back in the Race as quick as possible? No... I can't... To busy watching my car floppin around, parts flyin everywhere, sometimes my body floppin, oohh... Rag Doll Physics.

Some of the Tracks are absolutely HUGE. Multiple Paths; High, Low, Medium, Left, Right, Down the Middle.

This game is a graphical show piece. Not exactly what they showed in the Original E3 Footage, but darn close.

Three Things I wish the Game had:
1) Replay at end plays your final Lap. I wish I could get the Whole Race, and I wish I could save it.
2) Split Screen Multiplayer. Playing this game with friends/family would make this game near perfect.
3) Rumble. I have not noticed the Rumble missing on any game yet till now.

None of these keep this game from being Great. Just some things that could have made a great game even better.

I have been playing the demo version and have been impressed to the max by this game. The engine sounds from the game sre enough to make me play this game until I turn 100 years old. When this game goes gold shame on you for not getting this one. The PS will come to life with this bad motor scooter of a game.

Motorstorm has great things to offer as the graphics are quite realistic, the sound effects as just about right on and the game mechanics are some of the best I have seen yet.. Great racing game especially if you like off-road types and many vehicles and classes to choose from. Other than no 2 player split screen offline(which would of been nice but not seriously manditory due to online which is great), this game will surely be to your liking.. Great game!

This game is insane! But it gets old, not enough tracks. This is by far the best racing game I've ever played. It is really intense with the off road style racing, graphics, and sound. The sixaxis control works very well with this game. You race with buggy's, trucks, and motorcycles all at once in this game. Some of the music is perfectly set with this game and definately adds to the experience, while other music just doesn't fit at all. The limited amount of tracks and weird music are this games downfall. The gameplay is enough to make me recommend it, its definately fun for a while.

Great game, Great graphic and lots of fun. Except the single player is too short :) But definitely 3rd Generation gaming graphic. Really fun to play online.

I downloaded the demo and played it and loved it to i bought it and let me just tell you the graphics are amazing! I hate games where you gont see damage to trucks and cars etc. But this one you see all kinds of stuff people floying off there bikes geting smashed by other racrers its truly a very awesome game.

I would give this game a learning curve of about 10 minutes, it's simple to play but higher levels will need some skill.

I would give the graphics a 3 out of 10, I'm running my PS3 using a 1.3 HDMI cable running into a 56inch 1080p tv and the graphics at times remind me of the PS2. If you crash along with others the PS3 will stutter and slow down for a bit. If they would have made it 1080i or 1080p it would be a better game.

I would give it a 6 out of 10 on a fun curve, it took me about 4 days to beat it from start to finish and get all golds. At times it feels like the game is only out to make you not win, cars ahead of you will slam of their brakes, motorcycles can make big rigs slam into flag polls and blow your rig, and a big rig can out race a rally car. It would have been better if the creators of the game ever spent one day offroading.

I would give a 1 out of 10 for sound. My jeep has a big throaty sound, on the game it has a generic wimpy sound. For those of you who have ever been offroading will know what I'm talking about.

If you have kids, or take offense to cursing and name calling you might want to avoid this game. It didn't bother me, at times there comments we're funny but I would not want my 7 year old seeing it.

Over all, this game is a great rental for a night with the guys before going offroading or jeeping the next morning. Knowing what I know about it now I would not have paid money to own this game. If you're someone who dreams of offroading and rally races, go for spend some money and live your dreams...or you could save your money and buy an old truck and throw a lift on it and go tear it up.

it is what it was and it came with fast shipping so far there is no problems have not played the game all the way but i did get online and worked great my 10 year old has played the game and he enjoys it

I bought this because I knew this game had amazing graphics and its unique brand of racing style (which it does), and the hype for it was overwhelming.

When I first popped it in, it looked alright, but the loading times were a little tedious. They were like maybe 7 to 10 seconds at a time, but it seemed much longer.

When I started the first "ticket" (race), I got to choose any kind of vehicle and the race was spectacular. And when I retried the race, there was no loading up required. Some racing games tend to do that.

But when I moved onto the next ticket/race, I was force to use a truck-type vehicle which was extremely slow and it felt very limiting to me. It is damn-hard to win with those.

When you race without using the boost, it feels really slow sometimes as well, and all the AI(artifical intelligence) cars just pass you by as well.

Also, I never really felt any intensity from the speed except when I boosted, and even that doesn't last too long. If you've played games like from the Burnout series, especially Burnout Revenge, you know what I mean.

Finally, it's a little disappointing that there is only multiplayer online.

Just to be clear, I still thought the graphics were gorgeous,especially for a racing game and is probably the best out of all playstation 3 games.

If you are a STRICTLY CASUAL gamer, then this game is pretty good addition for you.

If you are a HARDCORE/KNOWLEDGEABLE gamer, who knows what they want in a game, especially a racing game, this is one you rent, unless you can buy it really cheap.

I think they probably tweaked a LOT of stuff for Pacific Rift, and that one looks very promising.

PROS: Has great graphics , great gameplay, nice choice of vehicles to choose from and each vehicle has its own characteristics. Great visually with crashes and enviroment clashes (bushes,trees,ruts,rocks,ect...) Decent tracks to pick from as well.

CONS: Its only a 1 player game unless you want to play online. So if you have a buddy over you cant 2 player race , have to play 1 at a time. Thats not to fun after a while. I mean how hard would it have been to make this a 1-2 player game + online.

Motorstorm is an exciting and fast paced off-road racing game exclusively for the Playstation 3. This game features nice graphics, fun gameplay, and competitive courses.

The game is set in the Desert at a made up festival. You race several types of vehicles in this game. From dirtbikes and ATVs, through buggies, onto cars and trucks and really large trucks (and semi-trucks as well) , there are plenty of options Each race is set up by a "Card." The more cards you defeat, the more races open up to you. Therein lies the first problem with the game. It lacks a quick play option. There is also no dual screen multiplayer. This game has several courses which are fun (and using different vehicles on them makes them unique as well), and some feature mud, others more dust, and all feature exciting races.

The races themselves are dramatic affairs. You race at high speeds utilizing an accelerator and a boost method. Your boost is temporary, and if it is overloaded, your vehicle will explode. If you crash into other vehicles, parts will fly off, and along the way your vehicle will garner more dust and mud. Crashes are spectacular affairs, as they spray metal all over, oftentimes involve many vehicles, and even drivers go flying from the smaller vehicles.

This game features excellent graphics, a loud soundtrack, and spectacular fun. However, it lacks some depth (with online updates this game gets better), and the lack of a quickplay option is also a problem. Also one must note that the loading times are long for this title. So grab popcorn while waiting to play.

Graphics: Spectacular, and the physics in the game are also well done.
Sound: A VERY loud game by default. The music is good for racing, and the explosion sounds are also good.
Gameplay: The gameplay in this game is the best part. If you own a PS3, download the demo to get a small taste of the fast paced action.
Presentation: This game lacks in some basic features, and has a long loading time as well.
Replay Value: High, with online multiplayer, as well as more options for expansions to the game.

Overall: A 4 out of 5 rating. A good game, but its sequel, coming this year, should surpass it in every aspect. Still, a bargain if you can find it for 30 dollars.

I bought this game because it looked like one that both children and adults could have fun with.

I like the way the controls handle for this PS3 dirt motor vehicle game because you don't slip or slide all over the road like some of the newer racing titles. MotorStorm was worth every penny of my hard earned money!

I decided to purchase this item cause I played it once and it was pretty fun. I'm happy with my purchase and the delivery time was good and the condition was excellent.

I used to rent this game before decided to buy one on ebay. It has great graphic and sound, and lots of fun, especially when you are riding a bike or ATV :D
