You've got to love a gangsta rap outfit that's both witty and unselfconscious enough to rhyme "body bag" with "lollygag." That's the just the kind of thing that makes Kane & Abel's uncompromising style work; they're single-minded enough to pursue an unrelentingly aggressive hardcore aesthetic, but they've got enough chops to keep things from getting boring or monochromatic. On MOST WANTED, Kane & Abel continue to deliver the kind of gritty, violent scenarios and unadorned, primal-sounding tracks for which they've become known. As before, there's a palpable sense of urgency throughout the album, and their bleak, existential view of violence that can be heard in everything from the militaristic percussion of "Count Your Ones" to the explosive sound effects on "Drama." The boys take time out for a couple of booty-chasing exploits, but for the most part, MOST WANTED heads straight for the mean streets.
