In Mortal Kombat Trilogy for Sega Saturn you can play 32 characters including the characters from MK1, MK2, and MK3. There are 30 original moves and fatality attacks; and of course new brutality moves, new power gauge and hidden characters. One of the secret character is Chameleon and if you want to know who this person is you will have to play and find out. Just like any Mortal Kombat game, this is a multiplayer game so you can beat the living crap out of your friends if you want.

Best MK Game For the Old Schoolers
Review created: 01/08/07

What can I say? I've reviewed MK II for Genesis and 32X, UMK3 for Saturn, and now I get down to the best old school Mortal Kombat game for it's day. With the wide range of characters that you start out with and hidden (Charaters from MKI and II, Bosses, Hidden Noob Saibot, Smoke,ect...)

As stated above, 32 characters, all the fighting arenas, some new ones. They fixed the long loading time from Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, but not by much, though their is a noticeable differance. Like all games, this has it's own glitches, but it seems as they went unchecked for the game was rushed to meet deadlines and simply not corrected. 4/5 for an awesome 2-d fighter.

Mortal Kombat Trilogy makes its way to the Saturn. I've been a big fan of Mortal Kombat since the franchise debuted. There are many characters to choose from(default and hidden). The graphics are nice for what the Saturn has to offer. Music is cool too. Lots of backgrounds(New and Classics). You will have a blast challenging your friends or going solo against the CPU. There are lots of moves for all the characters. My favorite characters are Sub Zero, Scorpion, Ermac, Rain, Reptile, Jade, Mileena, Kitana, Smoke, and Cyrax. Mortal Kombat Trilogy is definitely worth adding to your collection. Lots of characters = high replay value It can be rather expensive at times, but well worth it. I bought mine for $36 off here. There's one going for $84+ right now. Big spenders or serious game collectors will probably kick out the cash for that one. If you see it for a reasonable price, be sure to pick it up. Enjoy.

  FIGHT!

I used to play this game much back in the day. I would always play with my dad in 1 on 1 matches. The game was so much fun!

Nowadays I got back into Mortal Kombat and put this one back in, it still holds up. The difficulty is a little high.

It's got an awesome character selection. (Characters from MK1, MK2, MK3, & UMK3!) 2D Mortal Kombat is better than the new 3D games they have out. One of the greatest fighting games ever made.

The last of a dying breed

Mortal Kombat is the staple of fighting games. The game that's memorialized the terms, "Fatality" and "Finish Him" and "GET OVER HERE!!" Although this game is 2D, but it definitely has a 3D feel as with all of the MK games. This game is fast paced and filled with the use of both combos and special moves. Mortal Kombat is also on Playstation and on Nintendo 64, but the Sega Saturn version is the best due to the fast loading time and the shape of the joystick (2 rows of three buttons on the same level as opposed to the competition). The Mortal Kombat brand always have wild and outrageous story lines for each character and as a whole connects with each edition. Trilogy uses the characters of Mortal Kombat 1, 2, 3, and Ultimate as well as their secret characters and bosses. Each are usable and introduces Chameleon in the lineup. You can either have a partner to beat up or go against the computer. At the completion of the game, you can even choose a prize which ranges from seeing all the fatalities in the game to seeing the ending story lines. The option choices are also based upon the level of difficulty that is played. The harder the level of difficulty, the more choices of options at the end of the game. Trilogy also has the "AGGRESSOR" option that rewards aggressive game play with more damage per hit. But by far, this is the best Mortal Kombat game ever, and that's including the newer ones. The only competition maybe Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe, but the fatalities still is the best!! Oh, and this also introduces Brutalities (literally beat your enemy until they explode), Babalities (morph your enemy into a baby), Friendships (become a friend to your enemy after you kick their butts), as well as the good old stage fatalities. So check it out and let the blood spill!!!

  Absymortal Tragic Trilogy
Review created: 09/13/02

Pros:
Almost every Mortal Kombat character since the dawn of the series

Cons:
Impossible difficulty glitches, poor sound conversion, sloppy compilation, worn-out engine

In case you're wondering if there's a difference between the Sega Saturn version and Sony Playstation versions, there are some slight differences here and there but all in all they are both ports. Introducing the year late Sega Saturn port of an overkilled game engine, Mortal Kombat Trilogy. In short, MK Trilogy is a compilation of Mortal Kombat's history since Mortal Kombat to Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. Running on the latest engine, the Mortal Kombat 3 engine (designed by Williams Entertainment), MK Trilogy combines all of the arenas, some classic characters, and plenty of rediculous blood...
