Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance (Game Cube, 2002)

Its similar to most of the other games. Someone betrays/attacks and you need to defeat them. Another game not meant for children. Beating up elderly, women, and children just isn't meant for young children no matter how ready you think they are.

LOVE MORTAL KOMBAT SERIES. GREAT GRAPHICS AND SOUND! FAST ACTION PLAY, BLOODY, GO-GO-GO. GOOD OLD AND NEW CHARACTERS. MY 9 YR. OLD SON LIKES THE TRAINING MODE. GOOD OPTION FOR NEWBIES.

I had been itching to play a fighting game for awhile and saw this one priced right so I snagged it. I am glad I did because this game is cool. Not only is there a practice mode, but there is a 'Konquest' mode that teaches you about game play. I am having a little problem doing some of the combos, but that is the standard controller that I have and my own big dumb thumbs. When you do the Konquest mode, it gives you 'coins' that you can spend in the 'Krypt'. The more coins you get, the more cool stuff you can unlock. Be warned, you must have a memory card in order to play the konquest mode. Setting up a player profile is a bit sketchy, but you'll figure it out. Just don't forget your pass code like I did! You don't need the manual for this game because you can learn the different combos in the Practice Mode. Be sure you watch the opening video in the beginning if you like to follow the Mortal Kombat storyline. I would have liked to see more options in the options menu, like maybe a letterbox mode. It has an option to turn down the blood if you have small kids and are worried about that kind of stuff. You can turn up or down the difficulty as well. I turned mine down to novice until I get the moves down. You can also turn off the vibrate thing in the controller with the options mode too.
When I first got this game I played in arcade mode, I did pretty well on the first two or three fights. But then I met sub-zero. That guy will teach you the benefit of blocking for sure. It was a pleasure watching him tear me apart like he did. First thing I'd do if I bought this game would be to set up a profile and do the konquest thing to learn the moves and combos. Maybe someday I'll buy another controller and play the VS. mode against someone.
Another cool thing about this game, you can pick from three different fighting styles while you are playing. One of these styles involves using a weapon. You just click the L button while you are fighting and it goes to the next style. There are different moves and combos for each style! I can't wait to learn them all for each character.
If you liked Mortal Kombat type games in the past, you are likely to love this one as well. I can't wait to unlock my first locked character!
If anyone knows if there is a better fighting controller out there for Game Cube, please let me know! I've looked here and there but found nothing I liked so far. Other than that inconvienence, this game rates Excellent for me!

This game is reeeally fun and i get addicted to it whenever i play, i play it on my wii and in order to play it you have to have a gamecube controller...it is still AWESOME

I love mortal kombat. And I have every game except for this one and thats why I bought it. Plus the price was very nice and on top of that the game was just like new. I was really happy with the game play. I normally dont have alot of money to spend on games but this one was worth it.

the game was shipped here fast but the disk was scratchy and had fingerprints on it and it wouldn't even work so I had to clean the disk up to make it work and thankfully it did. Average

My son loves to play MK and was excited to learn of the newest edition. MK Deadly Alliance. I am sure he'll enjoy it.

I BOUGHT this game for old times of playing this game brings back memorys.

Buen juego, algo complicado, pero supera a los anteriores en graficas. El modo de mostrar como jugar lo hace interesante ya que te guia en como usar los controles y como hacer combinaciones de defensas y ataques; lo malo es que si olvidas escribir tu codigo de entrada pierdes ese registro y tienes que crear otro.

MY OPINION FOR OTHERS ITS. I PLAY THE MORTAL COMBAT FOR 9 YEARS, SO I RECOMEND THIS GAME BECAUSE ITS EXCELLENT GAME

i like that it is a fun game me and my wife play it every once in a while i decided to buy it because she used to love the mortal combat games and she still does its a great game.

Everything was great we had a little trouble at first but we both took care of it fast she was helpful...

I bought it for my son. Need I say more. Good gam, but as these games evolve each new generation usually puts the past ones to shame and this franchise is no different.

The product you send me got here in good shape and my son enjoyed it for Christmas. I would do business with you again. The product item got here in about a week, that was fast.

I bought this game because My family likes games full of competition. This game has that. It has brought my family together to spend time because it has different colors and characters as well as being so graphic. This is one dislike there.

Anyone who is a fan of the MK series will want this game. It has a solid fighting engine with three separate fighting styles per character. The variety of styles help the game from from being repetative. The directional controls are a little cumbersome unill you get used to using the D-Pad (analog stick does nothing). The Konquest mode is basically a tutorial where you complete various moves for the selected character. Along the way you will learn different tidbits of information for each character, whether it is story info for histories of the fighting styles. You will collect koins in both Konquest & arcade mode. These koins can be exchanged to unlock koffins in the Krypt. The koffins contain various unlockables (some of them being Kombatants). I give this game a 4 out of 5.
