Mortal Kombat - Annihilation (DVD, 1998)

Wow, there were so many characters from all the Mortal Kombat games, but with the elementary school dialogue and acting, this fell way short. In terms of video game movies, I put this in the range of Doom and Bloodrayne. What a little more money spent on better actors and screenwriters, this could have been much better.

I bought this movie from half.com, because it's affiliated with ebay first off. I trust ebay, and it's where I make a lot of buys. Second because the prices are great, even though some times I would rather have to just buy now rather then having to auction off for a low price. Like, there should be some kind'a ebay store that had nothing but like 25% or some kind'a precentage off on prices. And the main reason why I purchased this product was because I like the movie, I watched it when I was a kid and thought hey, it would be cool to own it for my own collection.

This movie, based off the hit game mortal kombat. It's release in the 90s when i was still just a youngster, was a dream come true. I thought all the powers and dragons looked soo real. But now i see it was a poorly done movie, but was pretty good for it's time. The movie is a part of my past, a part i want to keep with me.

the movie was a not so good sequel. The actors did not all return which was truly a shame. The plot was very weak compared to the first. Not only that but the actual monsters were very fake. It seemed that the directors were not really trying at all. A little of a disappointment.

A good popcorn flick, a throwback to the Mortal Kombat fans from a couple of decades ago. Do you remember going to the video store and reserving your own copy of the video game prior to it's coming out? The game was fantastic. Just wish I could say more about this movie.

The movie itself was great then as I was still in fan mode. But in retrospect, it's actually pretty crappy. The original cast from Mortal Kombat did not return except for Robin Shou. And as good as Robin is, the movie isn't the same without Christoper Lambert's witty one-liners.

The CGI effects seem to have been downgraded for Annihilation. Not as crisp as the first movie.

Now, rumor has it that a third one may be in the works... can they improve with modern cinematography? Let's hope so.

I LIKE THIS MOVIE. I INTENDED TO BUY MOVIES, SO I CAN HAVE OTHER MOVIES TO SEE. THERE'S NOTHING I DISLIKE.

For some reason I had teen memories of this movie being cool - boy were those clouded! Barely made it ten minutes into the movie... I was hoping it was better than the first but I think it was worse! The music is kinda cool with its trademark song and everything and the concept is great too, just not the execution. THIS WOULD BE AWESOME IF THE REMADE THE FILM!!! But otherwise keep your good memories, and your money and don't watch this again.

this was a pretty good movie. i wasn't much of a mortal kombat video game fan but the movie was pretty good with lots of action in this one. there is a sequel direct to dvd planned for next year. would be worth the time to watch.

Well, here is a sequel that has little to do with the games besides trying to squeeze in a bunch of characters. Then, they change a lot of cast, and put Shao Khan without his mask most of the movie. The film is plagued with lame special effects, a thing plot, and a horrible Rayden. But, the picture and sound are quite superb.

Even though the movie didn't completely follow the video, i thought it was still worth buying. The only thing i disliked about it is that there's not that much extra content to look at and that all the original actors who portrayed the characters wasn't present in this sequel.

IF you love martial arts you would love this movie. Good action all the way. I think the kids would enjoy this movie the most but if you are young at heart then you would like it too. Very recommended.

Mortal Kombat, what can i say, the games revolutionized the whole world and a new meaning to the word GORE, great movie a MUST own for any mortal kombat fan.

Even a die hard Mortal Kombat fan as myself cringed when I sat through this movie. Now I give the first one a 5/5 just so you can use that as a gage. Half the orignal characters had different actors which just kills the flow. The acting is terrible. Sure the fight scenes were good, but the first was much better. Stick to the original and to the TV show and wait for the new Mortal Kombat Movie. In case you haven't heard, Mortal Kombat 3 is coming soon and is actually replacing Mortal Kombat 2. Even they know it was bad and are trying to erase it and remake it with the orignal cast.
