Death Takes a Holiday

What do you do when your job is so important that you just can't take a day off? You find an apprentice to work as slave labor, and that's what Death, who was getting sick of the daily grind, did. His choice of apprentice? A bookish young lad, composed entirely of knees and elbows, named Mort, who didn't know what he was getting into when he accepted the position. Oh, he knew he was going to apprentice for Death, but he never dreamed that Death would immediately begin encouraging a love connection between Mort and his daughter (someone's gotta take over the family business, right?)!
Another hilarious installment in the Discworld series, this book begins "The Death Storyline" (visit my guide to Pratchett for details about the various storylines). Pratchett's sarcastic wit is back with dripping vengeance, mocking everything from religion (and atheism) to ethnic cooking, and all places in between!
If you like humor, action, and adventure, then this book is for you.
(And if you don't like that stuff, go back to your cave and leave us normal people alone!)
