This new book by Woodsmall is the sequel to "When the Heart Cries." A betrayal forces Hannah Lapp to flee her Amish community in Owl Perch and find refuge with her Aunt Zabeth and assume a new identity. She struggles with the Englishers and their world, finding it confusing and unfamiliar, but satisfying work and her growing friendship for Martin Palmer help her to begin to heal. Back in Owl Perch, Hannah's absence has left her loved ones in turmoil. Her father refuses to search for her and her sister Sarah is wracked with guilt over ruining Hannah's reputation. Her fiance, Paul regrets his betrayal of her trust and decides to search for the woman her loves. The question is, will he find her in time and will he be able to capture the love they lost?
An excellent portrayal of the Amish community and very similar to stories by Beverly Lewis.
