Monster by Frank Peretti (2005, Hardcover)

I like mystery.... I like suspense.... I like the unusual.... I like thought provoking.... I like to feel that I'm right there in the pages.... I like cliff-hanging chapters.... I like when these kinds of things happen to just ordinary people like me and they somehow know what to do to survive.... and all of this and more is in this book. The writer feeds us little important details about the characters and events. Then in the following chapters, as we're reading along, one of these details comes to our mind, when all at once he brings it out - at the same time our mind is thinking it. We don't have to ponder, "But what about this and what about that" or "don't you remember such and such". His mind thinks like the ordinary person. That's important to me. It was a bizarre book.... but I LOVED IT!

Only Frank Peretti could make Bigfoot believeable - and keep you flipping pages at night. His style of going down what seem to be rabbit trails, and then at the end drawing it all back together is what makes him one of my favorite authors. If you liked The Oath or The Visitation - you'll LOVE this one. I actually bought it when I kept getting outbid for the DVD of the Vistation. I was hungry for Peretti and realized I had missed this book when it came out. Forget those stupid Desparate Housewives - make this your non-guilty pleasure of the summer.

Great read. You'll be on the edge of your seat for the entire book. Great thriller, not too scary for kids.

I read this one in two nights. Not an easy task with four kids, including toddler twins and a more than full time job but I couldn't really put it down. I'm a spoiler and usually figure out the endings, but this one held surprises for me. Great read!

This story draws you in. I could not put it down. Peretti's books are the best. I would recommend it to young and old alike.

Frank Peretti is fast becoming one of my favorite authors. He has such a way with words it is like your there yourself. All i am going to say is read this book it is very very goodand i would recommend it to everyone.

I am a Frank Peretti fan. This book is quite different from his other novels but is full of suspense, keeps you hanging and reading on and on. It is a fast, easy reading story. I highly recommend it!

I am a huge Perretti fan ever since I read "Piercing the Darkness" and "This Present Darkness". This book is very good and held my attention throughout. I think it will make a wonderful movie. Its a wonderful sit down and read under a warm blanket on a cold winter night.

This is a strange, excellent book! I like something unusual and mysterious that captures your attention and makes you not want to put it down. This is such a book. I was hooked early on and nearly had to set aside the rest of my life to get to the end. The book will stretch your imagination, cause you to pause and think (but you don't have time to think much, because you're moving on to the next riveting chapter). I have always been strangely fascinated by Bigfoot (I was hooked as a kid) and this plays on that theme, but in a different way. A nice thriller by an author who always delivers.

I really liked this book. It was quite accurate in a forensic sense, and I was never bored. I'm glad I had the chance to read another Peretti thriller.

I bought two of these books to give as Christmas present to my daughters. I previously bought the book for myself when it came out and loved it. It keeps you on the edge of your seat and you can't put it down. You live the plot through the characters eyes. Best book I read in a while. You will not be able to quit reading it once you start.

I've read some reviews of Peretti's work and wanted to read one for myself. After readin Monster, I will definitely be buying more of Peretti's books.
The book was quick to get interesting - it had me hooked within the first chapter and kept me turning page after page, with an excellent ending.
If you like suspense with a good versus evil theme, this one is for you.

After reading this book, I will NEVER again think of Bigfoot in the same way. This is VERY WELL written, & the ending is SUPER. Frank Peretti is such a skillfull writter, you can NEVER get comfortable in one spot in his books, cause you'll be outa there quick as a wink.

I bought this book because I enjoy reading a good mystery and this author never disappoints me. The item arrived in fine condition. I read this book and as I thought enjoyed it tremendously. I can buy on Ebay and resell my books at a good price. Therefore I can afford to by others. Most people who buy and sell on Ebay are good honest people.

Great fictional book! My wife and I both liked it. If you like this book, you will love the Oath. I also have purchased his new book, House.

this author grabs u in the beginning and keeps you through the whole book, this was the second book by him that i have read and i have more too great read

I bought this book because I love other books by the author Frank Peretti. I have read many if his other novels and have enjoyed them. He's a thought provoking author. It's wonderful to have a Christian author that writes books that have twists, turns and that makes you wonder how the book will end. His books Piercing the Darkness, This Present Darkness, Oath, Visitaion and more I would highly recommend to any adult reader. Pick up one of his books and you'll find you'll want to read his other books. This books was NO exception so don't hesitate to purchase it.

This book was a real page turner! Just enough mystery to keep you guessing through out the book. Just enough spook to get your heart racing as well. A true adventure for the outdoors man.
