Movie Description Funny man Bob Hope stars as Monsieur Beaucaire, King Louis XV's nitwit barber who is in love with a beautiful chambermaid. Beaucaire earns the King's ire by dropping the ball on one of the King's amorous intentions in front of the Queen. Before departing, the buffoonish Beaucaire dresses himself as the King, momentarily confusing his beloved chambermaid, who loves the King, into throwing herself at him. When the Queen finds the couple, she tosses the poor girl from the court, and that's just the beginning of the fun and games. Beaucaire goes on to pose as a French Duke engaged to a Spanish princess in a marriage of political convenience aimed at offsetting the possibility of war. Beaucaire will soon learn that he's a patsy in a plan to upset the international order in this hilarious parade of mistaken identities and love intrigues. MONSIEUR BEAUCAIRE is a sure hit for fans of classic comedy, Bob Hope, or general silliness.
