This DVD shows great scenes of the behind-the-scenes activity of the British Royal Family, including some interesting shots of HM Queen Elizabeth II. This well done program is interesting and revealing without being too intrusive. Lots of great information regarding the extensive (and expensive!) prep work for Royal events and state visits. As a long-time Anglophine, I watched it straight through, then went back and revisited my favorite parts. I loved it!

I have seen this documentary at the PBS that's why I decided to get a copy for my collection. I have always been a big fan of the Royal Family since the during the younger years of Princess Anne and Prince Charles. Get one copy of your one of us, you won't regret it's a good purchase.

TerrificSaw a couple of segments on BBS and really enjoyed these. Purchased this as a gift for Mom for Christmas as she came over and watched a couple with us and loved it as well. The documentary is quite well done and enjoyable to watch and I'm not usually a fan of documentaries.

) I wanted a copy of this program ever since I saw it on PBS. It is very informative and great to see an institution as human.
I hope that Great Britian never does away with the monarchy because if the do it would be a devasting marketing mistake. During filming they interviewed a group of people that are anti-monarchy and I personally think that they are misinformed when they state that the Queen and her family are not needed. Because with the patronages that they do and the causes that they embrace they bring much needed attention to the for.
The main reason I say that it would be a marketing nightmare is that if there was no more monarchy why would Americans or others want to go to England and other countries in Great Britain. Just think of the tourist dollars that would end up in other countries. The airlines that might just take Great Britain off their schedules. The small companies that rely on tourists to take their products (that may only be found in Britain) home with them.
But enough about the possible negative notes and back to the main reason I have really enjoyed this program and that is the people, the scenery, and the wonderful background gained from this series. I heartily recommend this series to any one who wants to learn more about Great Britain and its' history.
It was also good to learn that the Queen and her family give as well as take when it comes dealing with every day life. (In other words their human too!)
