My daughter purchased this book for her molecular cell course. While she felt the book provided thorough text and diagrams, her teacher preferred to provide his own class notes and use this textbook as a supplement to his lectures. She did find this book to be helpful.

This was a require text for my class but I will likely add this to my science book collection. This is an easy to read book. The verbage is not daunting and the pictures are nice and detailed. It also has an online resource which serves as a nice complement.

Very thourough - course may not cover entire textThis is a well written textbook, as it goes into great detail. This may also be more detail than your course requires (this is the assigned text for a 3000 level biology course at the Georgia Institute of Technology and we only cover about half the material).

This item that is described and which I ordered was not the item that I received in the mail. I received a much older version of the textbook, so I had to send it back. I was refunded by the seller, whom appologized, but I still lost money in shipping. I was refunded some money for shipping, but half.com only gives you 80% of what shipping actually cost now days. I was only out a few dollars, but it was very inconvienant to have to ship it back and then get another text book for my college class that started the following week. This is the first time I have had any problems, so Im lucky for that.
