| Movie Description The History Channel travels to New York City for this look at the past and present of Times Square. A truly astonishing sight when first glimpsed, Times Square has always been known for the spectacular advertising that seems to cover every square inch of the towering buildings located there. But it has also had a checkered past, with the landmark site undergoing a serious decline in the 1970s and '80s, when it became a dangerous haven for prostitution, pornographers, and street crime. However, the Giuliani administration cleaned it up in the '90s, after which Times Square clawed its way back to a level of popularity not seen since its heyday before the Second World War.
