A Modern Herbal by Maud Grieve (1971, Paperback)

This book was recommended by another person. I do find it very helpful since each of the herbs listed gives you a full description. For each of the herbs they have the description, constituents, medicinal action and uses, and preparation and dosage. This book comes in a two volume set and I would recommend it to anyone interested in herbal medicine or to anyone following the Wicca believes.

M. Grieve's extensive work is a must read and great resource for herbalists, gardeners, and horticulturalists. Her original work was in one volume. It has been reprinted into two volumes, and is available in paperback. I didn't want to lend out my original 1924 copy, so I purchased the two volume reprint for my students and clients to peruse.

It is an excellent and carefully researched work. It's a 20th century version of the best medieval herbal works available. I highly recommend it.
