Figure Modeling

I loved this book as it really details the sculpting from inside out. I am a true amatuer yet and starting out in miniature (1/64 scale). Bruno Lucchesi takes one from armature to skeleton to the muscles, then the skin, hair and such detail. The photos give one so much more detail. I have read more than a few How To's and guides and will say that I have learned that sculpting is a challenge that gives much pleasure. It is the individual taste, direction, and knowledge of the sculptor that really makes the piece a work of art. The human form, or figure is a very complex machine. Without some basic knowledge or understanding of the bone configuration and muscle movement it is very difficult indeed to do an accurate depiction of either male or female figure in movement. I was able to glean from this book a good rudimentary knowledge of the inner structures ( bone and muscle ) and the actions / reactions behind movement and / or action of the figure. All I can say is that it has become a very valuable reference manual and led me in directions I had not given thought to before. I purchased this book because my figures just seem to lack something and I was not sure what. I feel it was a very wish choice indeed.
