Model 1911 Automatic Pistol by Robert Campbell (2004, Hardcover)

A good hardbound reference book, 8"X10½". A partial listing of contents discusses the history, origins, improvements, disassembly and maintenance, magazines, sights, leather, and many different manufacturers and test results of their product (Kimber, Colt, Springfield, Llama, Wilson, etc.). A 160-page book printed on quality paper with high-quality color pictures of all guns and ammo, literally hundreds of pictures (one, two, or three pictures on every page). 27 chapters plus an Introduction and an Index. A good reference book to have on your shelf.

Not very indepth or complete. The author skipped around not touching on any one topic fully enough to finish before moving on to something else. It was not a very compelling read and I often was bored with the information. Author had his favorites.

Very good book. Covers a lot of topics. Very well written. Would recommend this book to others. I like the idea that a former police officer wrote this book. Gives everyone the right view.
