Mobile Suit Gundam SEED - Movie 1: The Empty Battlefield (UMD, 2005)

Mobile Suit Gundam Seed The Movie is a fantastic way to jump into the world of Gundam Seed (GS) if you've never watched the series. It gathers snippets of the first part of the GS world and makes it more accessible to new audience viewers by montage and puts more story involvement with key points of the first half of the series. If you've seen or own the series then you've really no need to watch it, unless you're a die hard fan and need to collect everything to complete your fetish or if you're just curious on what it looks like in montage format, but it doesn't hold a candle next to the emotional feeling of the show or better yet, the emotional attachment you create to the characters due to the great directing and superb animation. The music is cool and the voice acting is done well.

My thoughts on this UMD... It's a great launching point for new viewers, but veterans may want to steer clear of it.

Extra thought: This is the first movie. Which implies that there is a second movie. Well, it's true. There is a second one on sale in UMD format, but I've not purchased it... yet.
