These clubs are fantastic. It's a shame more people don't know about them. Perfectly weighted, perfect size, perfect(long)distance, amazing feel, outstanding control even on mishits. What else could you want from an iron? I started playing with these last year and ever since I've been throwing darts.

Mizuno MP 30 Iron set Golf Clubs

The Mizuno MP-30 iron may be the answer to the prayers of mid to low handicap golfers. As I get older and don’t play as much… I have been thinking 'wouldn't it be good to have the performance and headsize of the MP-33 blades combined with the forgiveness of a cavity back iron. Lo and behold Mizuno was thinking the same thing and the result is the MP-30. The acclaimed Mizuno forging process means you get great feel combined with the ability to shape the ball anyway you want. Every now and then Mizuno create some classic models that raise the bar and stand the test of time, such as the MP-9 & MP-11 blades and of course the MP 33,. I think the MP-30 is one of these and serious golfers should definitely check these irons out.

My first set of New Irons in 20 years!
Review created: 06/06/06

I was having a hard time playing with my 20 year old golf irons. My distance was at least 10 yards off what I had hit for the last 20 years. I had hear all the latest discussions of what technology was doing for all golfers not just pro's and I wanted some of that high tech. I went to proshop and tried the demo's that were available and found one set I liked but could not afford. I went to ebay and started to bid on the set I liked they still were more than I was willing to pay. I started to follow and watch multiple sets up for auction and finally won a relatively new set of Mizuno MP-30 with stiff shafts. My son 24 years my junior and a scratch player said they were possibly to much of a blade and maybe too stiff for my 56 year old swing. I had already won the auction and was eagerly awaiting the clubs arrival. Well to my surprise the clubs arrived and were almost brand new better than described in listing reminded me of opening christmas presents in my youth and the excitement I felt. I went to the range as soon as possible and experienced the return of lost distance and some of my lost accuracy. Well it's been two months since I started using my new irons and I wonder why I waited so long.

These clubs are absolutely terrific. It's a shame more people don't know that Mizuno Golf is amazing. These clubs are perfectly weighted, the perfect size, perfect(long)distance, amazing feel, outstanding control even on mishits. These are everything you would want from an iron! If you play with these you will definitely shave strokes off your game.

This set of clubs can do it all. It fits a wide range of players. Blade look and feel. But still lets you hit off center with good results. If you liked the T-zoid pro, you will love these.

I purchased these clubs because I was not getting the distance between the mid & long irons with super game improvement irons( Callaway BB 04). The local club fitter insisted I was not quite ready for these clubs experience wise, but my ball striking was consistantly in the heart of the club.He even suggested a swing coach!Imagine that!!
After finding a sweetheart of a deal on Ebay for a combo set (3-5 are cavity back MP30's and 6-PW are muscle back (blades) MP37's) I am finding the distances are much more defined, my shot placement more accurate, and man, these clubs get the ball up and away!!What a beautiful, and piercing ball flight. My Approach shots are sticking on the green AND the scoring irons are spinning.I have dropped 5 strokes off my handicap...(Pinch me somebody)...I wish I would have came upon this item when I first started playing.Beside this, I find these clubs enable me to work the ball on command with ease,AND they are pretty to look at.
Thank you, Thank you, thank you!!!! I am the envy of my foursome, Because I been spanking their @$$@$, and winning the Nassau!!
I wish I would have came upon this item when I first started playing.

MP 30 are great irons the only thing i didn't like about this set is the short irons. the face was worn so badly that there was hardly any groves left yet the long irons were like new. So for that reason i was a little disappointed in the condition of them.

These are great irons. I've played with them for around 3 years now and they feel great, are very easy to fade or draw, and shots in the middle of the clubface go forever.

I had never played Mizuno irons and decided to try them. The MP 30`s play great! Nice distance and accuracy.A lot of people say ok for the mid handicaper, but you need to practice! All the new "game improvement" irons only mask the fact that you`re a bad golfer, and I feel like the best way to get better is get some players irons and practice! Mizuno fits the bill and you`ll love them!

  Mizuno MP30 Iron

I used the MP30s for 2 yrs when it came out ,was very happy with it. Last year the MP57s came out and I thought it would be better. I was wrong. I stuck with the MP57s for a year, lost distance and accuracy, I thought the Rifle Project X shaft was too stiff so i had it changed to my former True temper S300, still the same performance. I finally hit an MP30 used by a friend and really it feels different. Now I am back to MP30s I bought from Ebay and hitting the ball solidly with distance, and will sell my MP57s.Only thing with MP30s- the steel is soft so it dings easily and the face wears out fast, especially the mostly used short irons. The MP57s are harder.

I made a serious mistake. I bought a new set of irons because I felt I didn't have time to practice the MP-30s. I'm sort of regretting the purchase because the new clubs just don't feel right to me eventhough they are a great set of clubs.
I have since taken the new ones out and put the mizunos back in. I couldn't be happier. The ball flight is predictable and the feel is good. The smaller head seems to be more beneficial than harmful as they have forced me to pay more attention to swing details. I tried to hit a new Taylormade Burner XD iron and couldn't get past the supersized head. 'Zuno for life!

  Great Cavity Back Player's Irons

Probably the most under rated of the Mizuno line, the MP 30's are a great iron for the low to mid handicap. They are forgiving, without the real low center of gravity, so you are still able to control the trajectory. Perfect to use as a combo set 3,4,5,6 with MP 32, 33, 37, 67's. Also very inexpensize compared to the MP 60's, with no drop off in performance IMO.

  Mizuno MP 30 Iron Set
Review created: 03/02/08
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

I bought the irons primarily due to the fact they had graphite shafts. Over the last few years I have been plagued by a form of "tennis elbow" and an older friend said other golfers at his club, all 55+ years of age, were having the same problems. Everyone one of those golfers got rid of their steel shafted irons and went to graphite shafts and the pain went away. I have only played 4 rounds since I bought the irons and the pain is not completely gone but it is much less than when I played my steel shafted irons.

I knew the irons I bought were no longer considered a "current" iron by Mizuno as most manufacturers are introducing 2 - 3 new types/styles of irons each year. However, I have owned other Mizuno irons and liked them a lot. I also did not want to spend $700 plus for the "newest" irons if the graphite shafts did not solve my primary reason for buying them. I was very happy that I was able to purchase the irons at the price I did.

Very solid feel with forgiveness for off center shots. Played in cold without heavy sting on off center shots but the sweet spot felt like hot knife through butter. No wonder Mizuno leads the catagory of forged irons on tour and with low handicappers.

Mizuno mp-30 iron set got traditinal looks what I expect from a colf club. Most important is that the club is forced. It gives the best feeling of hitting ball. I have no absolutely nothing bad to say about the clubs, they are just perfect!

  Mizuno MP 30 Irons
Review created: 09/06/09

I like these clubs because I have used this same model myself for the past 3 years. I am extremely pleased with the feel and the performance of the irons. I decided to buy this set for my son's birthday. He was in the market for a new set. I felt like he would enjoy these as much as I do, plus it was a good deal. The only issue I have with this particular set is that the shafts could be too weak. It was such a good deal, I went ahead an made the purchase, knowing that the shafts could be changed.

Mizuno MP 30's worth the wait!
Review created: 03/28/09

I have wanted Mizuno irons since I started playing golf but didn't feel I was good enough to justify the sale tag. A few years later and the perfect opportunity and the wish has been realized. I got them adjusted to fit me the first day I received them and in the first week I have hit 1,000 balls with them. I love them...the feedback has helped me get a better idea of my swing and has improved my swing. Easily the best set of irons I've ever owned. I look forward to the day I can buy a new set of Mizunos, custom fit of course.
