* Tiger won 3 U.S. Amateur Titles with Mizuno MP-14’s!

* When Tiger signed with Titleist he stipulated he would sign only if they would make a set of irons identical to his MP-14’s!

* Tiger uses Nike MP-14 clones today!

The MP-14s are the best irons ever made. They are balanced exactly right; they look beautiful to the eye and perform exactly like a golf club should. The ball flight and shot patterns of the MP-14s will immediately tip you to any flaws in your swing, you can work on your swing with full confidence knowing that the tools in hand are perfect.

The ball comes off these irons like a bullet, piercing and true. As you become accustomed to them you will discover that the weaker lofts are only weaker by comparison with today’s clubs, the lofts are actually perfect in terms of how a set of irons are built to function. The drive for distance which has led manufacturers to strengthen lofts to the point of absurdity has rendered the modern long-iron useless. A generation of players did not suddenly lose the ability to hit a 2-3-4 iron, what happened was that the manufacturers jacked up the lofts and rendered the clubs unplayable. The MP-14 3-iron has 23 degrees of loft -- comparable to a modern 4 iron – and you will discover, to your delight, that you do not need a stupid overpriced hybrid, the MP-14 3-iron is built correctly and is therefore eminently playable. If you own a set of strong-lofted game-improvement shovels and cannot hit your long irons, you will be startled all to hell when you pick up the MP-14 3-iron, it may well become one of your favorite irons in the bag.

Lofts and distances:
On cruise control I hit the MP-14 PW 118 yards, the 9-iron 132, the 8-iron 144, the 7-iron 156 yards. These distances were cause for concern at first until I realized how surgically the clubs perform. Once you establish the distances and consistently hit the sweet spot there is virtually no variance, e.g. the 8-iron flies exactly 144 yards on every swing.

Higher handicappers and the MP-14s.... I say go for it. They are so beautiful and so wonderfully crafted compared to today’s overpriced game-improvement hunks of junk; you will not believe your eyes. You will understand what a golf club is supposed to look like, how a golf club is supposed to perform, you will receive unerring feedback on your swing and when you do hit an MP-14 iron flush you will experience golf nirvana and just never go back.

I can not recommend these clubs more highly

Thanks for looking and please check the yes box!
Tiger Nick

Suprisingly forgiving, very soft, beautiful looking clubs. Best forged blade ever made. Can compete with the best blades in the market that are manufactured right now. Nike or Titleist blades for $900 bucks?? Not worth it!!

I've owned these clubs for four years now and every time I think of replacing them with a "CG Enhanced" version or new "Fusion" model all I have to do is compare them side by side. These clubs have a perfect swing weight; they are sharp as a tack from the top-line down, they are flat out gorgeous, and are surprisingly forgiving (for a true blade).

Bear in mind the offset is negligable, the soles are razor thin, and the size of the 3-iron club head appears not much larger than the ball itself. However; if you can find a set of these beauties give them a try-- they are sweet and soft like butter.

The second best blade ever !

For the accomplished player there's only one better: the MP-29 which differs only slightly from the 14's (mainly, the lofts are stronger and they're a tad smaller). Both are flat-out gorgeous with an simple understated elegance totally lacking in the garish world of today's products and both offer a soft, buttery feel. True, cavity-backs are more forgiving and if your hand-eye coordination leaves something to be desired maybe you should look for something in that area. But if you're a 10 HCP or less you're probably good enough to hit these earlier made MP's, the finest forged clubs ever created. I have both the 14's and the 29's and won't ever part with either set. When I'm really "in the zone" I'll use the 29's, but the 14's are my everyday club of choice.

  Soft, Great Look, & Long

For you non believers, this is truely the best iron I ever hit. I've hit C/B irons all my life, and there was alway something missing. The pancake size head on C/B's was always anoying to me, but there was nothing else to choose...surely not switch to a blade. However, my approch has now changed. The look is what I had been striving for and didn't know it. (By the way, I have either owned or hit most ever brand / style of C/B irons) I tried other blades, but the look, feel and lenght were not to my liking. The MP-14 are VERY long and accurate. I did reshaft to 6.5 rifles, and then, wow...8 iron shots are now higher and longer than you can imagine. Don't believe these are for Pro's only. Please give them a try. Again, there the best I've ever hit.

I have been fortunate to have owned a set of MP14's and i have recently just purchased another spare set with a s400 dg shaft as my current set has a dg s300 so i am looking forward to testing them out . I have used these irons playing in a tournament and i can vouch that they are pin seeking irons. They are the softest feeling blades that i have used and tested as i have had the opportunity to use various brands of irons CB and MB . In conclusion I prefer MB as to CB as they give you the feedback you need when a miss hit shot is placed therefore you can improve on your swing. I started off using CB but i went against all advice from my coaches that blades are not for the high cappers but since switching to blades My golf improved dramatically, They sit nicer and look better at address and a good shot is pure and soft as butter and that promotes confidence in comparison to CB as they are chunky and a miss hit shot might be forgiven but ultimately your swing will develop a flaw and will be difficult to correct

  Distance Control Is Key!!
Review created: 05/28/08

I shoot in the 70's and have played blades for the past 21 years. The MP 14 is the best blade I've ever owned due to one very important factor. This club will help you with distance control. THis is very important, just think of how many more birdie putts you'll have when you are nearly always pin high? You can hit your iron shot left or right but if you are pin high you will still be pretty close to the hole. When you do hit that perfectly straight shot now you have a tap in. They will help your game better than any blade I'm aware of. Get some off ebay cheap. Buy a grove tool cheap and there you go. They may not look brand new but they will perform great. I've played my current set for the past 10 years and I'm about to send them off to get refinished new for only $350. Well worth the investment.

  YOU MUST HAVE THESE

I agree with everything said except that the 29's are better. These are the most Awesome Irons anyone can own. Soft, precise, I have a great set but am always looking for another set of MP 14's. If you notice the MP 100's the 100 year aniversarry club from Mizuno ($1495.00 Retail) Are almost exactly like the 14's. Very Slight diference in the back of the club. These are the end, new irons will come out each year but these are the best ever. If you are thing about owning a set don't hesitate do it now. You will be pleased. If you don't like them an owne looking for a spare set will buy them right back.

You are good enough to hit these on the pin.

  Absolutely Perfect Blades!!

These are by far the best blades I have ever hit. I have been playing these clubs for 5 years now and every year my golfing buddies tell me about all the new irons that came out. I go and test each and every one at the range and still have not found a set that can better my MP-14's. Titleist has a blade iron from 2004/5 ?, not sure of the model #, that are very nice, but they still do not top these irons. I am a 4 handicap and I want to warn everyone looking into the MP-14's that these are not for the average golfer. You need to be a better than average ball striker. I do not recommend these for anyone higher than a 9 handicap. For those of you still interested... these irons feel like butter when well struck.

  Wonderful irons

Am a 15 hcp who has been playing game improvement irons since I started 5 years ago... most recently Taylor Made R7 draw w/reg. graphite shafts. On a lark, I bought a set of MP14s blades for a good price on eBay with DG R300 steel shafts. Thought these blades would be way over my head, but was shocked to find them far more enjoyable and accurate than my R7x. They are relatively heavy, but have beautiful balance and that unmatched smooth forged feel. Blades require focus, and you pay a price for mishits, but the feeling of control is fantastic and my tempo and ballstriking improved immediately. I am in love.

  Unbelievable! Perfect irons!
Review created: 08/30/08

I'm 22 years old and am just getting back into golf. I played a few rounds in middle school and gave it up until a few months ago. Though I've hit a few different brands of cavity backs and a few different brands of blades, the only clubs I'd ever owned were my grandfathers 1970-something Lynx (blades). I'm not sure what my handicap is and I've only played 6 or 7 rounds in the past year. I'm still learning, but I've shot two 89s and shot a 39 on 9 holes the other day with the old Lynx.

I decided to try blades because the best golfers that I know (and most serious) recommended blades for the feedback and the consistency. I was scared of the Mizunos because of all the people saying not to play them if you're not a low handicapper, but only YOU know how serious you are about the game and how much work you're willing to put in.

I just bought a set of Mizuno Mp-14s off of ebay, with precision rifle 6.5 stiff shafts and new tour velvet grips and they cannot be put into words!!! Don't ever let someone else tell you that a club is not for you! The feedback from these irons is priceless. When you hit off center shots you can feel it, but the ball still goes almost full distance. When you hit them on the sweet spot they feel like a million bucks!!! With the old Lynx I hit my 7 iron 150, but with the MP-14s I hit the 7 iron 170! My 8 iron went from 130 to 150, my 9 iron went from 120 to 140, and my wegde went from 105 to 125!

I bought them for $200 and wouldn't take a dime less than $800 for them! These are the ultimate game improving club. They show each and every mistake you make in your swing. They won't give you feel forgiveness, but they will give you a little sweet spot forgiveness. They look great, they feel phenomenal, and the feedback is soooo helpful for those of us who want to perfect our swings and our bottoming out skills. Buy a set before they become extinct and play them. If you don't absolutely love em, put em right back on ebay and someone like me will snatch em up!!! Goodluck!

  mp 14

Had mp 14s 1n the 90`s till early 2000`s. Traded them in for forged Titleist 690 CB`s. But decided to go back and try to give my game another push/ as in having more control over where I want to put the ball.
Pros-
Could stop the ball on a dime. Even long irons have controllable spin. User must have grooved swing and mature ego (loft is on the weak side), but distance is very much accurate.
Cons-
More offset than I have been playing lately (have to get used to them again)
Much weaker lofted clubs.

This is the club for the better ball strikers out there who want to elevate their games a little. On days that you are not swinging well these clubs will not hesitate to remind you about your flaws. It is a plus to be aware so you do not groove your swing mistakes, and find time to correct them.

With this clubs you have to suck it in and constantly practice.

Rob
