Wow, what a solid club -

What's not to like? Beautiful setup, clean lines, and gorgeous ball flight. Oh, and the pop! I just received mine a 15* 3 with the Striper Tour in it and had one range session - it showed HUGE power. Back net at 250 on the fly. I have bid on a couple others with different shaft setups too because I think dollar for dollar this is currently the biggest sleeper in the fairway metal category. I may even drop the 2 iron and start playing a 5 wood again too!

  Why you should buy Mizuno
Review created: 01/06/07
6 of 7 people found this review helpful.

Mizuno got a bad rap a few years ago on the US tour. But in all honestly take a closer look at todays blade iron designs. They are all knock offs of the original Mizuno design. Tiger Woods played Mizuno clubs until he turned pro; then Titleist made him some blades the same as he Mizuno clubs. In Eupore Mizuno is still king yet over here they do not pump enough money into advertising; hence the popularity of Taylormade, Titleist, etc. Mizuno do not produce cast clubs for a reason; enough said. The fairway woods cut through the ground as if the ball is tee'ed up and with that said; pure shot feedback is delivered everytime. Take my word for it; Mizuno is king!

Mizuno F-50 Metal Fairway Wood- 3 wood, 5 wood
Review created: 01/08/07

Having played the MX 500 Driver, and the MX 25 Irons, it seemed like a natural thing to try their Fairway woods. I immediately liked the low profile head shape and clean lines. The clubs were very easy to hit. They displayed good trajectory and ball flight. The distance was a big plus as well. I had no problem trading off my Ping G2's. It really feels great to play a shot with these clubs

Caution when buying golf clubs on eBay!
Review created: 03/16/08
by:
4 of 4 people found this review helpful.

The amount of counterfeit golf clubs on eBay has increasingly gotten worse. I wasn't aware that it had gotten so bad until I started looking for a 3 wood to buy. While I was searching around I read a very helpful review (written by im.old.greg if you wanna read it yourself) that informed me just how out of hand the situation had gotten. After researching I found that there are a couple of things you can do to help guarantee that you don;t waste your money on a counterfeit club.

1. If you have the option but from a seller with golf in the title (ex. bobsbettergolf or 3ballsgolf) or but from a seller who frequently sells golf equipment and has gotten good feedback remarks.

2. If you are going to buy from a seller with neither of these characteristics, then make sure that they include actual pictures of the club in the auction instead of a stock photo.

3. If the auction does have a stock photo then send them an e-mail asking them how they got the club and where they got it from. If they won't answer you or their answer is very brief and vague then you should be careful.

Usually sellers that are selling fake clubs have these characteristics:
1. Brand new
2. Stock photo in auction
3. Way underpriced
4. Very vaugue about how they got the club.
5. Have a lot of auctions of they same kind of club.

These are not the only characteristics of sellers offering fake clubs, just ones that I came across as I was in the market for my club. I hope that you find this review helpful!

  Mizuno Delivers!

I've been a Cleveland guy for a good long while but wanted to try some Mizuno gear as I have moved into the mid-handicapper realm. Got the MX-25's and a full compliment of the woods. Wow! The Cortech face design of the fairway woods, utility and driver has a tremendous pop and really gets them up and out there. A stellar look, a great sound and a terrific result. I went 10.5* driver, 16.5* 4 wood, 21* 7 wood and a 26* utility. They are all longer than my Cleveland Launcher Comp counter-parts. The 4 wood is easier to get up than my old 3. The 7 wood goes as far as my old 5. The utility goes as far as my old 22* Halo. Beautiful, easy to hit, great distance. I highly recomend.

  GREAT IN THE SCREWS

LIKE-when you catch this in the screws it is almost as long as Sonartec which is almost as long as Exotic.

DISLIKE-I purchased this as an early season "forgiving" club. Mishits are not punished as badly as some others, but this is not the most forgiving club out there.

  Mizuno F 50 Fairway Wood
Review created: 04/05/09

Mine was a 13.5* 3 wood. I was looking for something that was easy to hit off
the fairway plus something that would give a few extra yards off the tee and be
a fairway finder. When fitted with the correct shaft, you won't be disappointed in this club. An extra benefit is they can be had for a good price.

  Great fairway wood

This is a very good fairway wood. It does exactly what you tell it to do. As a result it is not as forgiving as some other clubs. But performence is great when hit close to correctly. I use it instead of a 3 wood. Much easier to hit and control for me. And almost as long. I'm a relatively short hitter, driver is usually 220-240 yards. this club goes 200-210 so fits me perfectly. Big hitters would be in the 240 range. Sets up nicely, easy to aim. Shorter shaft than a 3 wood is good for those with some control problems.
Excellent quality as are all Mizuno products.

An excellent club at a cheaper resale value

I was really impressed with my used Mizuno F-50, 3 wood, 13.5 loft and a stiff graphite shaft. It's easy to hit and provides long distance shot. The only downsize is the scratch club face which is nothing but normal. Overall, this club brings out the best in me.

  Learn from my mistake!!
Review created: 11/02/09
by:

This is a nice product. I really like the way the club sounds when you hit the sweet spot. It sounds like an egg cracking ! The ball comes off the face real sweet, and it is easy to work left or right. However, I am not satisfied with the shaft combination that I mistakenly acquired on Ebay. I got an Aldila NVS 65-S and I needed an heavier swing weight for my swing speed. I ended up getting the newer F-60 with a custom hybrid NV 85-S and I am pleased with this setup. It does not have the same acoustics, but I am hitting it where I want it, so no harm, no foul.
If given the opportunity to give advice, I'd advise one to go with the new model F-60, and have your swing speed tuned to find the right shaft. That is the secret to playing better golf. I know it cost more, but in the long run, you will be pleased with the result of a ball flight that could make you the envy of your foursome, not to mention carding lower scores. Because of this fine tuning, I am leaving fewer birdies out on the course, and winning more nassau's!!

  236 yds.
Review created: 12/01/08

I am now 64 years old and just 4 days ago I hit the 3 wood 236 yds. on my second shot to a par 5 on the green to putt for an eagle. that is a long ways for me but I have been hitting Mizuno clubs for the past 2 years and have regained some of my lost distance fron earlier years.

Overall, it was a great item. It could have been shipped in a better box. It was in pretty bad condition when I got it. Overall, seller responded to my e-mails. Item was shipped a little later then I wanted, but seller informed me when it was sent out to me.

  Straightest fairway wood
Review created: 11/04/08

Fairway woods and long irons were not my clubs of choice so I substituted hybrids above 5 iron. Needed more distance than #2 hybrid so tried Mizuno 4 wood. Excellent club in all respects -- straight and long.

  Mizuno F 50 4 wood 16.5*
Review created: 10/04/08(updated 10/25/08)
by:

I have looked for a long time to fill a gap between my 3 iron and my 3 wood.
The 3 wood I carry is a STRONG 3 12.5* that I use on tight driving holes(250-260) an occasionally from the fairway. From the fairway I hit it about 235-245. My 3 iron is about 210-215, so I've tried A Taylor Made Burner 3 hybrid (19*) with some success. I can hit the ball pretty high with the hybrid and it is wonderful out of the rough. But it is probably a replacement for the 3 iron as far as distance. 5 woods gave me about the same distance as the hybrid and the 3 iron. This 4 wood is the perfect solution. I get the distance that I want and some pretty good height. Off the tee in the 230 range and a good 220+ from the fairway. It should help on long Par 5's.
