The Mitten by Jan Brett (1989, Reinforced Hardcover)

I love this book. The illustrations are great. The style is excellent for young children. The old Ukrainian folktale is delightful and Jan Brett does a great job in retelling the story.

The books arrived before Christmas and my grandson could not believe all the books he received at one time!

Based on a traditional Ukrainian folktale...awesome story about how all the animals get along to stay warm.....in a mitten!!

The description of the books was very vague, however, in one location it said that "The Mitten" was in a hard cover version. When I recieved the books none of them were hard cover and the the books were in worse conditions than I had expected. Although the books were not recieved as expected, they did arive in a nice, prompt manner.

Love the story! It is a great book for my grandchildren and one that can be read every year during the winter season. Now go out and buy some mittens.

I recently began teaching Elementary Music and immediately started looking for this story as it adapts very well to the music classroom. I enjoy all of Jan Brett's stories and the illustrations are just as great. If you are looking for a story that children will fall in love with and one you will enjoy as well this is definitely a winner. I truly love this classic book for children. The author is well known for her illustrations and this particular book was in excellent condition as the seller stated. I would certainly look up this seller for any books she may have in the future for sell.

I bought it for my granddaughter. She loves it! the illustrations are detailed and this book sparks imagination and creativity in children that read it. I sent it to my granddaughter with her own pair of mittens.
