Ghastly, for the most part...
I'm a classical music and film score buff, having followed the work of numerous modern composers for the last thirty years. Michael Giacchino's work on Mission: Impossible III is basically an upscaled version of his previous work on Alias and Lost. Much of it is rather annoying and there is very in there that I would call an "enjoyable listen."
The exceptions to this rather bleak listening experience are the main theme, which was brought back to its original roots and is astoundingly fresh, as well as the slower, romantic and/or sad music that Giacchino composed on certain tracks, which really pull at the heartstrings.
