Missing: Since January (PC Games, 2004)

I play a lot of games produced by The Adventure Company/Dreamcatcher Games, and really looked forward to playing this game which is quite different from traditional "Adventure Games".

The storyline is very interesting, as you match wits with a brilliant, but disturbed & deranged character which creates creepy, sinister atmosphere of danger.

The game-play is also somewhat unorthodox, as the player is required to successfully solve numerous puzzles in order to obtain clues and see video-clips taken by the person alledged to be the killer.

Another interesting twist to this game, is that you work with other "characters" as a team, and recieve updates, suggestions and clues from them via e-mail. Much of the investigation required to gather information is found on various web-sites across the internet, which gives this game an element of "real-time" authenticity, which leads the player to believe that you are actually interfacing with a an investigation "team" to help to solve a deadly puzzle.

Quite a departure from conventional adventure games, I found this game to be quite stimulating intellectually, and very satisfying. Crack this case, and your assistance may be sought again in a sequel.

This was a good game which I enjoyed playing to a certain extent. It was not quite what I was expecting. It has a tendency of being kind of confusing at times. The story of the game was interesting. This game is cretainly different....different from any game I have ever played before.
