Oh, this is one of my favorite books. The review given by the publisher makes no sense. The mirror is just a vehicle and other than that, it is only a prop in the story. This is a study in human nature. It is time travel, and it is totally serious, not frivolous. Makes you think. Makes sense, too. It is well thought-out and raises some interesting questions. This story keeps you spellbound and gives you a laugh once in awhile. I have recommended it to all of my friends over the years. I keep an extra copy on hand just to lend to friends. And I have lent it out many, many times. I am not going to ruin it for you, but it's like watching your life play out when you know all of the answers, but you have no idea of the questions.

I bought this book because it is my all-time favorite book. I bought it years ago when I was a member of a book club. I fell in love with the book and wanted to get copies to share but it was out of print.
When I saw the book on eBay, I knew I had to buy it; so, I bought two copies.
The book is about "time travel" but it's not the science fiction type of time travel. It's set in the present (at the time the book was written) and then in the past and is the story of a woman who becomes her own grandmother thanks to "The Mirror." After a lightening storm, Brandy finds herself in her home town almost a hundred years in the past.
It's just an amazing book but I have never been able to look comfortable into a cheval mirror since!
