Synopsis
Kris Kringle is an elderly man with a snow-white beard who lives in the Maplewood Home for the Aged. Although most people don't take him seriously, Kringle claims to be none other than the real, true, actual Santa Claus. Hired by a cynical divorcee/single mother Doris Walker to work as the Santa at Macy's Department store, Kringle brings extraordinary changes not only into her life, but also into the lives of her daughter and their neighbor, a handsome lawyer named Fred Gayley. However, just as Kringle seems to be bringing the true spirit of Christmas to the entire population of New York City, a few nonbelievers set out to have him declared insane and committed to Bellevue. Will anyone be able to prove that Kris Kringle really is the one and only Santa Claus? Although it was initially written as a screenplay for the classic 1947 movie of the same name, the story told in MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET was deemed so special that it was reshaped by the author and published as a novel during that same year.

The lives of three people are changed by an old man who insists that he is Santa Claus.
