Miracle on 34th Street (DVD, 1999)

I adore this Christmas movie- one of my favorites. It is right up there with "It's a Wonderful Life." Kris Kringle (the real Santa Claus) happens to be at the right place at the right time (or should I say the wrong place at the wrong time) and ends up being cast to play Santa Claus in the Thanksgiving Day Parade since the guy who was supposed to play Santa showed up drunk! Of course, being Santa himself, he insists to all he really is Santa in the coming weeks, which gets some people quite upset and lands him in some serious court trouble. It is comical, touching, and magical. Definitely one of the finest holiday movies of all time.

I love this movie because it is a good, fun, classic. It is the same reason why I purchased it. It's always a good movie to watch around Christmastime or actually any time. If you check AFI's top 100 Inspirational films, this was #9.

Miracle on 34th Street (1947) is a Christmas Classic fit for the whole family. Maureen O'Hara shines as the harried Doris Walker, and Natalie Wood sparkles as her precocious daughter Susan. The theme of daring to believe is present throughout, but the charm of the 1940's setting makes it all okay. A perennial holiday treat. B&W, 97 min.

I adore this movie. It is my favorite holiday movie of all time. This is second best movie. This purchase is definitely for me.

There has been re-makes of this movie, but none of them come close to the magic that this classic film possesses.

I must admit, I am not a big fan of black and white TV or movies, but this movie still holds up for quality 60 years after its first release.

The story is heartwarming and moves at a good pace - great film for the entire family to watch during the holiday season!

The film, which was made in 1947, does not lend itself to any real DVD bonus features, so the only features that come with this DVD are two trailers - which are great!

Well worth the money - a DVD you will want to watch every Christmas seaso!

What a classic! Everyone needs to watch this movie each and every Christmas! My one friend had it on her Christmas wish list. I not only bought her a copy, I bought my family a copy too - through Ebay! We will enjoy it for years to come!

One of my fave movies,i love Natalie Wood and the doll that she hold in her arms.i love to collect that kind of doll and i have few of them,i like this movie because i like santa claus,i love this movie because i love Natalie Wood and Maureen O'Hara,its a very beautiful story about SAnta Claus and family,its a nice movie for the whole family and people from all age,this movie is truly an excellent in rating and i enjoy watching it together with my beloved husband and our loving cute and lovely beautiful baby Narci.

I love the classics and this is one of them. This is the original cast of characters and it's great. A real family movie. Going to watch it with my granddaughter. I've seen it many times on TV around the holidays but just had to have my own copy to add to my library collection. Love seeing Macy's at the holiday season and watching Santa prove that he is real, or at least no one could prove he isn't.

I am so busy, that most times, I miss the Christmas Specials when they are on TV. This way, I can watch this movie on my terms. Thanks for selling the video. It arrived fast and in A one condition.

Miracle On 34th St. is the only movie that can make me cry year after after year (it has to be the original b&w version though. When Kris Kringle speaks to the little Dutch girl and of course the very end do it to me, year in and year out. When my young (now grown adults with children of their own) nephew and niece were told by their cousin there's no such thing as Santa Claus, I made all three sit down and watch this movie. For all of those none believers and nay sayers, this is the movie for you. You HAVE to believe in him after watching this (and I'm 52 years young). Thru the years, the original version holds up very well compared with todays movie standards. After watching this movie the first time, I refused to watch anything with Edmund Gwen in it, for fear of losing that belief I'd felt after the first viewing.

This is a good christmas story for everyone. Older people will enjoy seeing the stars they don't see anymore. Reminds me of good days.

This is the old version of Miracle on 34th st., that I like. So I am buying it for me this time. Very good movie.
