he Mio 200 has a nice feature set including:

Preloaded U.S. Maps
Text-to-speech With Voice Guidance
Over 3.5 Million Points of Interest
Sensitive GPS Receiver
SD/MMC Expansion Slot
The unit comes with a USB charger, mounting hardware and USB PC cable, and DVD.

I was impressed with the receiver's sensitivity. My old unit really needed to be pointed at the sky to pick up the satellites; the Mio can actually operate from inside my house! I was also amazed at the "Back-on-track" function. No matter how badly I messed up my route, the little machine continually reprogrammed itself, and made sure I knew how to find my destination.

The Mio screen has plenty of brightness, and lots of audio volume to be an effective driving tool in the car. The female voice is very natural sounding, so much so, that if she hasn't spoken in a while, it can be a little disconcerting when she pops up to give new instructions.

There are a few things, which need improvement. Mio provides a "Quick Start Guide", which basically includes some installation pictures, and instructions on how to start-up the unit. There is also a brief, on-screen tutorial. I thought that the included DVD would have the full-blown manual, but it did not. Neither does the Mio website. So to paraphrase the "Where's the Beef?" lady, "Where's the Book?" There was an FAQ on the Mio site that stated the book would be available in the summer of '08. Hey! That's now! The Mio 200 is not a toy! It is an intelligent, state-of-the art computing system! It deserves, and the user needs to have a full-blown manual to find and implement all the features.

The only thing I dont like is the reset function on the top of the unit if you push a button too far it resets the unit and you have to go thru establishing your location. Other than that the unit is a good item and meets my needs thru my day

This device is an excellent gps unit. It has very good text-to-english and always has a strong signal. Screen is compact yet easy to read, POI actually fairly informative. You can't go wrong with this GPS.

  Works Great For Price

The unit works great for the price. It has not gotten me lost yet and it connects to the satellite within a few seconds. Only down side is the POI. It doesn't offer that many locations and it is kind of slow when trying to find something. Besides that, it is a great starter unit for anyone. Even those who are not technologically sound.

  Portable gps navigation device

First time I have ever used a device of this nature. It is unique, accurate and fun to use. It is relatively easy to program and lets you know where you are, how far you have to go, the speed at which you are traveling and points of interest ahead. Based on your destination and speed it also give you an ETA to your destination. The voice commands are pleasant and understandable. I'm quite pleased with the purchase and look forward to using it on every trip.

I love the fact that it is so easy to use straight out of the box. Decided to buy it because we caught a great deal on it. Very user friendly. Would definitely buy a second one for the wife.

  Mio Moov 200 GPS

I bought this to see if I liked it more than my current GPS. I didn't because it was more difficult to set up functions on than other GPS devices that I have used. I also didn't like the look of the map software as much.

Used other GPS'. Just as good as the $300 ones.

I have used the Garmin, Magellan and Tom Tom and the Moov 200 is just as good as the others. There are little quirks in all of them; i.e. I have to put in Denver as the city for my home rather than Thornton because we are in unincorporated city limits. I had to do this with all of the ones I used. It is just as accurate and half the price. I highly suggest you purchase this one over the others. You can buy the updates for it that offer traffic details and directions for other countries like Mexico or Canada ... even Europe! Don't waste your money on other machines ... buy one on the cheap on Ebay and buy the updates if you need them and you will come out ahead $$$ wise.

The MIO is light and compact but...
Review created: 12/10/09

I love that its so light. The software, which came with the unit and was supposed to be useable turn by turn for Israel doesn't work well with this system. Freezes often - right when I am on a highway and can't turn it on and off 50 times to reset it.

Thus I have a beautiful and light gadget, but it doesn't work where it is supposed to work. So I can't give it an Excellent review since the item doesn't get me where I need to go, and I can't give it a poor review because the Unit itself seems to work.

Make sure if you buy foreign maps from a seller that you confirm that the software/maps are original for that Unit and not copied to a Memory card.

Not much research, guess Mio Moov is the next generation, and pull the trigger, may hack to get more CE function and install iGo, but not really care that much

cheap, for a working old but almost new GPS under $70, can't go that wrong, it is fast too. and 3.5" screen fit in my palm, a 4.3" seem awkward

if double the money, may get a better garmin, but really way better? I doubt, I saw a $300 garmin still cannot find signal under heavy clouds. But the search interface is dumb, way too dumb, I may try iGo, but so far I can handle that. for me I really don't want to spend a lot on that, cause two years down the road, new tech will always pop up, who care? like I am really to keep this thing forever, it works for me, that's it. I don't have to fell in love with it.
