The author Rusty Goe is a coin dealer in Nevada specializing in Carson City coinage. He is also the founding member of the Carson City Coin Collectors of America, of which I am a member. This is the first book I am aware of, specializing in the coinage of the mint that operated from 1870 to 1893. The book includes information such as mintages, varieties and surviving populations ans detailed drawings of each of the 111 silver and gold coins minted at the facility. The book also includes history of mint operations in the historical context of Nevada, the Comstock Lode and the political stife that threatened the very existence of the facility in the face of political pressures that favored other facilities in San Francisco and Philadelphia. The book also provides details of the life of Abe Curry, who founded Carson City and lived to see it designated the capital of Nevada and the home of the famed Carson City Mint. This is a must read for any collector of Carson City coins or any collector interested in Carson City coins or the history of Nevada.
