Millennium Actress (DVD, 2003)

If you like Perfect Blue or Paprika you will love this movie. It is set in many different time periods and is a very captivating story. One of the best animes ever!

Some people have found this movie hard to follow, but I think anyone used to Japanese story lines will find this to be a wonderful movie. We meet the Actress in the being of the movie when she is an old woman being interviewed. During this interview we relive her life and long movie career with her. Throughout her career she is chasing after her mysterious long lost love. Detailed animation makes this movie an A+++ in my book!

Starts off slow, but it is a great movie to watch with a girlfriend to show her your sensitive side. Plus the music in it is great.

I think this anime is one of the great ones like Akira and Studio Ghibli movies. A must have!! It has a fun fast moving plot. I love all the transitions of the themes. You see something new every time you watch it. I recommend it to everyone.

If you saw the other works of Satoshi Kon, you'll love this movie. The story is great, it's wonderfully illustrated and, like other thing from this great director, it makes you alternately laugh and cry, since it contains comics situations and poetic and moving ones.
