Industry Reviews
YA-One of the most successful advertising campaigns ever is the "Milk Mustache" ad created for the milk industry. These spots are so popular that celebrities often offer to make them, rather than waiting to be asked. Schulberg, the director of the team that created the campaign, traces it from its conception to its state today. He does an excellent job of showing how the idea was hatched, what focus it would have, why there are so many different versions of the ads, and why some pieces will only appear in certain magazines. Most of the book is taken up with full-color photographs. It concludes with some of the better spoofs on the campaign. Although there isn't much text here, there is enough information for students studying marketing and merchandising. It's also a valuable resource for those who can't identify all of the people in the ads.-Robert Burnham, R. E. Lee High School, Springfield, VA
