  Reliability is still an issue

I bought an Xbox 360 in Nov. 05. It needed replacement in June of 07 (It lasted a year and a half). The replacement lasted a month and the replacement after that was broken when it arrived. We are currently on our 4th Xbox in 2 years, and our 3rd replacement in 6 months

If you are going to buy an Xbox 360 on Ebay make sure it's Brand New! If it's used at all you run the risk of someone selling a machine that is in the midst of failing. My first return worked for about a month off and on before it fully died. Yes Microsoft will send out a refurbished machine but my experiance has not been great with that program.

In short make sure the 360 is new or don't bother.

To Pre-Order or Not to Pre-Order?
Review created: 11/12/05

Are you buyer's asking the question as to whether the seller will give an immediate refund if they are unable to ship your / their Pre-Ordered xbox as advertised?

I have 10 Xbox 360's premium systems Pre-Ordered through the various brick & mortar and online retailers. I've learned in the last couple of days that I probably won't receive even half of the units ordered due to a tremendous cut-back in initial unit allocations from Microsoft.

Many bought_and Paid for eBay Presales are going to go unfulfilled. I hope eBay is ready to deal with the onslaught of complaints and buyer protection claims that are sure to follow!

Think BEFORE you Leap! Make sure the seller actually has the items. Just because they have a Pre-Order receipt, this doesn't guarantee that they will actually receive the item for resale.

Xbox 360 Should be good and here is why

First off lets discuss a bit of the specs for the Xbox 360 System and what they mean to you.

The custom-designed Xbox 360 central processing unit (CPU) runs at a breakneck speed, thanks to its three separate core processors that clock in at 3.2 GHz each. In lamens terms this means that it techinically has 3 seperate Computers in the box! However it gets even sweater because each of these computer chips can do two tasks at once! So in doing the math of 3x2 you are looking at 6 chips running at 3.2 ghz...vrooom.

Xbox 360 boasts a custom ATI graphics processor that clocks in at a blistering 500 MHz. If you want to get even more technical Xbox 360 can take advantage of more than four times as many polygons as the original Xbox® console, and more than four times the number of pixels per second. The GPU or Graphics chip in the Xbox 360 System is very cool. It has I believe 48 pixel pipes that are strictly free to calculate cool effects like water, clothing, grass bending or blowing in the wind. Not one graphics card on the market has as many pixel pipes as the GPU in the Xbox 360 does.

The 512 MB of RAM in Xbox 360 is eight times more powerful than the original Xbox, in terms of simple arithmetic. The system RAM gives developers a unified memory architecture. Game creators decide how to partition it, and all of the hardware components can access the memory. This is going to lead to HIGH Definition or HD resolution on games. Most televisions are limited to 640 x 480 resolution, well now be prepared to 720i, 720p, 1080i resolution. Madden Football will have never looked better.

Be sure to get yourself the xbox with 20 GB hard drive. The sheer amount of downloadable content that fits on such a hard drive is staggering, and now you can rip more music onto your hard drive and play your own tunes as a soundtrack in any Xbox 360 game!

Dont forget to get yourself a few wireless controllers for you and your friends.

Xbox 360 Basic Must know Information
Review created: 06/18/08
72 of 78 people found this review helpful.

If you plan on getting a new, pre-played or refurbished xbox 360 system here is some basic information that you should know.

1. When getting a new systems you are no immune on getting a defective unit. (Please see my guide on the 3 rings of death )

2. When getting the unit for a ebay seller make sure the he is a reputable seller. Power sellers normally will work with you to get any issues resolved.

3. As well as the new units, refurbished and pre-played xbox 360 may also have the 3 rings of death.

4. Before blasting a seller with a negative contact them to see if they can help you resolve the issue.

Now you may ask what are the 3 rings of death?

Here is a bit information directly from microsoft's site:

SYMPTOMS
You see three lights on the Ring of Light (RoL) flash red on the front of your Xbox 360 console. The upper-right quadrant light is the only light that does not flash red.

CAUSE
The three flashing red lights may indicate that your Xbox 360 console has experienced a hardware failure.

Due to the high level of integration of the Xbox 360, the 3 rings of death is a hardware failure due to heat and lack of circulation of the Xbox360.
New and used units will no show any problems when the units is 1st connected and played, but in time the unit may start to fail.

Assuming that the assistance is needed, a phone call to the helpful people at the Xbox 360 support center is the next step. Every day from 9:00 A.M. to 1:00 A.M. Eastern time, and 6:00 A.M. to 10:00 P.M. Pacific Time, gamers can call 1-800-4MY-XBOX to get the repair process started. International users can dial 425-635-7180. Once the call has been made, and the problem identified, an empty box is then sent out to gamers. The particular problem at hand will determine what all contents are shipped back to the repair center. Unless you are experiencing a problem with the hard drive of your console, all you typically send back is the system itself. Detach the hard drive, remove and store all discs, and keep all controllers and cords. There are warnings throughout the instruction page sent out that if you send in anything not needed, it might not be returned.

So please do not be upset with the seller of the hardware it is not their fault that your unit has failed. Contrary to popular belief, microsoft has extended warranty for this type of error. Please consult with microsoft for repair procedures.

  Awesome System
Review created: 10/05/05
68 of 142 people found this review helpful.

The XBOX 360 System is definitely going to change the world of gaming as soon it's sold to the public on November 22. The system will have lots of features including 3 3.2GHZ CPUs that will power the machine in an incredible way with its incredible graphics processor which will be better than any graphics processor out there, including the PS3 processor since the ATI chip in 360s is better than the Nvidia chip on PS3s. To enjoy next generation of gaming, there is no better way than to buy the XBOX 360 this November as soon as it comes out so that you can have a wonderful holiday with the system.

I have one, and here's what I think...
Review created: 11/25/05
66 of 73 people found this review helpful.

Ah, where to start? Let's start with a quick summary of the good:

My new Xbox 360 is awesome. The display looks great, features are pretty cool, and it appealed to my geekness right from the first moment it powered up. The unit itself was simple to setup including the networking and even looking at the menus in HD found me saying "wow, that's awesome." The opening scenes of Call of Duty 2 were equally awesome.

I've never been a huge fan of wireless controllers in general, I like wired connections because they're "guaranteed" but I think the Xbox controller may have convinced me to give up that old way of thinking. It was simple to use, the connection is really responsive, and I like that they provided the option to turn off the console when I turn off the controller.

I played with the Live connection today (read below for my minor problems with initial setup) and was really impressed with the marketplace. I love downloading demos and think all systems should have this standard from now on... I know this will be a long term benefit. I already tried a new game I'll buy tomorrow.

What about the negatives?

The unit itself is meant to be cool looking and I do think it is better then the old Xbox design. The odd part about the unit is that it was pretty loud after running for a while, so much so that my wife is asking how often it is going to be running in the living room. Now I'm reading in different places that the units can overheat but mine has been good so far. The power supply is huge which I also find kind of annoying.

Initial setup of Xbox Live was a bit of a pain. Too much typing on the controller and I'm going to look and see if I can do any of the setup from my PC as a work around. My problem was that I entered all this info only to find the Xbox didn't think it could connect to Live. There was no option to save my data (privacy / security was probably the reason) which was a hassle. I eventually got it to work but it was not as easy as it should have been. By the way- when I had the Xbox test my connection it found the internet no problem, so it wasn't an issue on my side.

The last negative is the lack of backward compatibility. I didn't think it would bother me, I still have my old Xbox, but it is pretty annoying to have two machines sitting there when it should be one.

All that said...

On day 2 I played and played and it is a really sweet system. Time will tell when more games come out. The unit is amazing but game availability is going to make or brake this product.

all i can say is for those idiots out there willing to spend a arm and leg just becuase it just came out is you should be shot. If you were a smart buyer like myself you would wait about 2-6months so that they get all the glitches and bugs out of the system and the demand swells down to a near halt the next time that it will rise again will be this summer since that is the release date for halo 3 but even then the playstation 3 wil be out so that will cut the demand down even more. you may think you need this but you dont it only is starting witha few games and is a basicly work in progress. be smart and just wait for the idiots to test it out first and get it all patched up then buy.

  Well thought out system
Review created: 11/22/05

48 of 60 people found this review helpful.

Microsoft did their homework with this one. The controllers are well thought-out and comfortable, with strong forced-feedback. The box is much smaller than the previous unit (which was humongous) and attractively designed. The online capabilities are mature--Microsoft leveraged its experience online to come up with a great model for online gaming, and a standard that ensures every game you buy can be played with friends (or whoever) online. Even parental controls are improved. The built-in interface with Windows Media Center will allow you to use it as a DVR or an intelligent entertainment hub. Heck, you can even plug an iPod into this thing directly and your playlists will pop right up on your TV.

Sure, it's $400 retail (don't even think about going for the Core model--you won't be saving money in the not-so-long run, and you can't play older Xbox games without the hard disk). And, yes, the price will drop eventually, but not by much: Sony's PS3 will NOT put much downward pressure on the 360's price--their optical drive is going to push them to $400 at a MINIMUM, so expect the PS3 to be heavily "bundled"--and Sony's online features will pale by comparison. Expect Microsoft to fight Sony instead with better software and online multiplayer gaming, Microsoft's strong suits.

Speaking of better software, expect the strongest titles in the future to come out first on the Xbox360 because of 2 factors: Strong Microsoft support for 3rd party developers, and a simpler memory architecture. In laymen's terms, its easier to build a house when you don't have one hand tied behind your back.

To be fair, I haven't even discussed Nintendo's Revolution here. Not enough is really known about the system, but we do know about Nintendo. They produce some really great, innovative games--but they are too few and far between. For example, it's taken them almost 5 years to come up with a Teen-to-adult level Zelda title...and they're saying they're going to release it for the Gamecube just a matter of a couple of months before the Revolution is going to come out. How long until the next one? Super Smash Bros was another great title--and it's been 4 years since the previous one came out. On the other hand, they've released umpteen Mario Party titles. Who cares about that anymore? As a long-time fan, my patience is waning. I can no longer recommend Nintendo for those who only plan to own a single gaming system, but Nintendo will always make a great addition to a household that already has another system. The 360, on the other hand, should do well as your main gaming system. PS3 will be great as well, just not as great. The 360 is just(forgive the pun) more well-rounded.

Disregard Sony's blustering (It's an Xbox 1.5 blah blah blah). It's a bunch of malarky. The 360 is a strong threat to the PS3. If anyone starts talking this way to you about the 360, ask them where the PS2's "emotion engine" went. ;)

In terms of value, this system has as much gaming horsepower as a $2000 desktop, but without all the configuration hassles. When purchasing, don't forget the entertainment you'll get out of it over the winter, but please use your head when bidding--there are MANY sellers (over 200 PAGES of them). Keep in mind the current retail price ($400) and a fair markup, and what accessories the seller is offering with it. Microsoft has committed to aggressive shipping between now and Christmas...they're not all gone, not yet anyway (as of 11-22).

Come on, it's still a console
Review created: 11/19/05

Man my nentendo rocked, until the N64, until my PS came out, until my PS2 came out until my xbox came out, until my xbox 360 came out, etc.... A console is a console is a console. You will forever be tied to what MS WANTS you to play! If consoles have really reached the level of PC's as far as gaming is concerned.. why can't you play against a PC in ANY games? Say Halo for instance? I'll tell you why, because all you console players would be owned. Not owned a little bit, owned a lot. MS had the capabilities to do this with the original x-box but didn't because they were afraid the public would find out they had been sold a bill of goods.no one wants to get there ass handed to them every day they play.

The 360 is no different. It's a console that wants so badly to be a PC. If only all you console owners out there would quit pining for the hardware table scraps the computer industry throws at you and ask for a real system. There's no reason MS can't come out with a siplified PC box that will play games as well as let you do most of what a full blown PC can do for a reasonable price. And for heavens sake make the damn thing upgradable. Oh, wait that would mean they couldn't sell you the non compatable x-box 540 in another year...

2 years from now MS will be selling a new x-box with some of these capabilities as well as it being a TV digital cable box and every other consumer gadget they can think of. You will be able to type a word document if you purchase the optional $75 keyboard and mouse, and rent Word form MS over the web. You suckers are destroying the freedom of gaming by buying into MS's dream. It's all about money to these console manufactures, and as long as the console crowd is waiting with baited breath for the next shiny box to role off the assembly line, nothing will ever change.

Come to your senses...

Pretty good, some bugs, but really neat
Review created: 11/17/05(updated 05/27/06)

This is THE BEST so far in gaming. You can watch movies with it, TV, listen to music, and of course, play games. The Xbox 360 comes in two flavors: the $399 version called the Xbox 360 and the $299 Xbox Core System. Neither of them will work with the accessories of your old XBOXs' The more expensive version includes a lot of key accessories: a wireless controller, a hard drive, a communication headset, an HD component-video A/V cable, an Ethernet cable, and--with the initial batch, a remote control. The Core System includes only a wired controller and a standard A/V cable and means you will have to spend money on buying extra stuff for it. Both have HD compatibility and that means you have the best video quality.

All Xbox 360 systems come with a free Xbox Live Silver membership, which should be sufficient for downloading patches, ad-based media content, and other freebies. But if you're looking to play games online and use Xbox Live's more advanced features, you'll need to upgrade your membership to the Gold level. Sign up for the longer 12-month subscriptions to get the best deal, or get the shorter subscriptions to get just a taste. (Xbox 360 systems shipping this year all come with one free month of Xbox Live Gold service.) Their are a TON of old XBOX games that the XBOX 360 is compatible with and additional titles will be added. In order to play these games on your Xbox 360, you'll need a model with the hard drive attached for storing the software emulator code required to run the game. If you have a broadband internet connection you can quickly download FREE emulators from Xbox Live. Here is a complete list of them so far.

Accessories:

Wired Controller The $40 Xbox 360 Controller comes with an extended 9-foot cable and an improved ergonomic design, compared to the controller for the original Xbox. The centralized, glowing Xbox Guide button gives you quick access to your digital movie, music, and game libraries, and there's an input for connecting a communications headset. Incidentally, this product will work with your Windows PC as well--just download and install the drivers from Microsoft's Web site. Pretty neat, I think.

Wireless Controller
The Xbox 360 can support as many as four wireless controllers. The gamepads feature built-in vibration and have voice-communication inputs that work with any standard cell phone headset, and the nickel-metal-hydride battery pack's remaining charge can be seen through the Xbox 360 dashboard. Seems like a steal at $50--but you might want to pick up a Play & Charge Kit or a Rechargeable Battery Pack.

Most of this information came from Cnet.com, experience from playing the 360 at Wal-Mart, and talking to others about it.

The 360 had a lot of bugs due to the fact that it was released so early, that is why it was not running for a while at Wal-Mart. It would over heat becaue it was turned on for 12 hours a day.

The PS3 will hopfuly be comming out in the fall and that will be the next best in gaming, seeing that you can have up to 7 players with BlueTooth controllers, byt you can read more about it at my guide on the PS3.

Hope this was somewhat helpful.

I already have money returned to me twice from 2 pre-sales that went south. The sellers were kicked off ebay. PAY THRU PAYPAL USING A CREDIT CARD TO COVER YOURSELF!! We're glad we did. We now have the system and it is great! The graphics are awesome. We haven't even tapped the surface of what this beast can do, but it's a really fun system. Why bother with other systems. Save your pennies and load up on this one. More games will come out and you won't know what to do next!

I know many of you are wanting this system, but let me warn you about something you may not know. Microsoft promises that the 360 will play most original XBox games straight out of the box as long as you have the hard drive. This is not true! I work at a video game store, and we have recieved several complaints. The truth is that you must have XBox Live and download a software update in order to play the original games. Also, when it says that it has 20 gigs...well, it actually only has 13 straight out of the box. There have also been claims that many of the systems are turning off by themselves. Before you pay these God-aweful prices, be sure that you research the system.

  "360 vrs. PS3"
Review created: 12/13/05
by:
19 of 31 people found this review helpful.

Microsoft has a good shot at beating out Sony this time around. It has established a market and added to a short but growing number of game developers. (Even Square Enix will be making games for 360).

Because of its 6 month headstart it will have a hand up, but it will be hard to keep it in the long run, Sony has a pretty advantageous lead in the market already. If Xbox capitilizes on its online capabilities which are even now far superior to PS2s, it could do very well for itself.

I think the PS3 will ultimately win the best specs award, but that doesn't mean better games or smoother gameplay. Wasn't the PS2 supposed to have some amazing chip in it as well? Xbox won the graphics contest this generation hands down, we'll have to wait and see how Sony's new chip performs, and how hard it is to program games that utilize it fully. Both will be mandatory HD so thats really a tie.

Personally this generation, I started out a PS2 guy, but after 3 of my PS2s broke, with a charge to replace each time, I got fed up and bought an Xbox. I know several friends who also had reliability issues with PS2. Xbox has been a gem for me though, no issues whatsoever.

I'll end up owning all the next gen systems eventually I'm sure, but if your a Sony guy right now, give Microsoft a try this time around, I'm sure you won't be dissapointed.

ps-I didn't even mention the revolution because 1)not enough info, and 2)I think both Xbox360 and PS3 are going to blow it out of the water, I mean no HD support? What are you thinking Nintendo???

This XBOX 360 stuff looks like a dajavou.
It sounds like a Dreamcast all over.

My friends and brother in law - want a Dreamcast real bad back in 1999 for the good graphics and stuff.
5 to 6 years later down the road same scenario.
My friends and brother in law - want a XBOX 360 real bad for the good graphics and stuff.

It looks some what bad out there knowing microsoft and how they do things out in the market it place.
We all know how they do on Windows OS and there Updates. :(

My self I don't like updating my computer every 30 days or less.
So how in the world will I update a XBOX 360 every 30 days?

Everyone keeps talking about this Windows MCE OS inside this XBOX 360.
So what is it that im buying a Computer or Game Console?

Thats 2 or 3 good reasons I will not buy this time around.
I think about saving my money for better systems.

Thats about what happen last time when I past on the Dreamcast.
Better things came out next year or 2 like the Playstation 2, XBOX and the so called GameCube.
Then my friends and brother in law got mad at what crap they bought into.

Not saying that the XBOX 360 is real bad but it's on the same track.
Only time will tell the future.

XBOX PREMIUM VS CORE WHATS RIGHT FOR YOU
Review created: 01/09/06
by:
18 of 21 people found this review helpful.

So you've finally decided to pick yourself up a new system. There it sits, the object of your desire: The Xbox 360. But wait, there are two different packages in front of you. Which one should you get you ask yourself. Well follow along as I take you through what each of the two versions of this console come with so you'll know exactly how to answer that question on November 22 when that choice is presented to you.

Lets start with the Core System shall we?

Here's what you will be getting should you choose to drop the $299 on the Core System:

One Xbox 360 (No Hard Drive), one power cord, one controller (wired) and the component cables needed to hook up your new console to the TV.

Now then, here's what the Premium System will be equipped with.

For your $399 you will receive one Xbox 360 (With 20 Gig Hard Drive), one power cord, one controller (wireless), one Ethernet cable, one Xbox live headset, combination component/composite cables (For HDTV or Standard TV), DVD remote and two AA Batteries.

As you can see there is quite a difference between what the Core comes with and what the Premium is equipped with. So how do you choose? After all one system is $100 more than the other.

Here are your reasons for getting the Core:

1: You absolutely have to have the system on launch day but you can't afford to buy the Premium package.

2: You like paying more money than your neighbor for the same thing.

3: You don't feel that you will need the Hard Drive as a memory card and an outside media source such as an Ipod will do you quite nicely.

4: Perhaps you want to get the core first and then find out if the hard drive and other such items will be upgraded in the future, thus giving you a jump on your fellow gamers.

Now then, here are the reasons to get the Premium Package.

1: For that extra one hundred dollars you will be getting a hard drive, wireless controller, HDTV hookups, a DVD remote and batteries. Quite a good deal. The headset itself is $20 bucks, the DVD remote is $30, the wireless controller is $49.99. Thats $100 right there. Add in the Hard Drive. $100 value. Free.

2: With that hard drive you will be getting a more optimized version of the console. Games, while designed to run without the hard drive, will save quicker, possibly have shorter or no loading times if caching is used properly.

In the end what it really comes down to is price. Are you willing to pay $400 for a console without getting a game? This is before any annoying bundles get tacked onto your bill. The only reason to not get the premium package right now is because you don't have the money. And if thats the case do the install base a favor and wait the year it takes to have them drop the Premium price to $299 to compete with the PS3 launch. The more the install base is skewed in favor of the hard drive the more likely it is the thing will be properly supported.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Accessories

I own 1 system, nearly EVERY accessory, and 14/19 games (yes, just got DOA 4)

if you are planning on buying a system from ebay, there are a few obvious and not so obvious things you should know.

firstly, DO NOT BUY FROM NEW MEMBERS!!! There are major scams going on with teh 360, make sure your seller has over (just to be 100% sure) 50 feedback. also make sure they are paypal verified. pay with nothing otehr than paypal.

Look for the white box, or premium. avoid the green box, marked core. you dont really get much with the core. i spent over $800 just to math my core up to a premium bundle.

GET A GUARNTEE / WARRENTY / RECIPT!!!!! The xbox 360s have been known for their problems, however i have not have any problems. Microsoft will not do anything without proof of purchase. the store will not do anything even with recipt.

DONT BUY IT USED!!! Chances are this ebayer is getting rid of it beacuse it is having small or even major errors! the xbox live trials and such will also be void.

DO NOT BUY FROM OUTSIDE THE US IF INSIDE THE US! There have been many people that have taken the JAPANESE version and transformed it into an english languaged console.. however, IT WILL NOT PLAY US&CAD GAMES!!, ONLY JAP!! why are they doing this? because in other countries the 360 is not selling very well. I Dont know why they arent selling well, but some people buy to sell to the USA.

  Ebay Ruined Christmas

Thanks ebay for destroying any good feeling i had left about the holidays. Because you provide to the public a sickening level of consumerism, many people including myself, will not be able to enjoy the pleasures of owning an Xbox360. I certainly do appreciate what you've done, and I am pretty flippin' sure Microsoft loves what you've done aswell. Because all the 360's that are holed up in their auctions means people won't be playing them, which means they wont be buying games from Microsoft, it means they wont be paying for downloadable content from Xbox Live, and they wont be enjoying the masterful capabilities of the TrueSkill system whilst they leisurly or competitively play gamers around the world.
So hats off to Ebay for killing that little piece of happiness I had inside.

  Xbox 360 vs PS3

Background information and upcoming news on the newest next generation gaming console.

http://www.us.playstation.com/newsstories.aspx?id=2197
http://www.us.playstation.com/SearchResults.aspx?str=ps3&cat=news&page=1

PS3 - will be compatible with PS1, PS2, PSP, PS3 games and more. Thats already more technology than the Xbox 360 or any other of Microsoft's console products will do in this decade from the looks of it.

Xbox 360 - 18 games at launch, and It it will not play regular xbox games with out a hard disk. 18 games isn't that half of the total games on the market for the original Xbox? If the Xbox 360 releases as many title's as the original xbox did, then it will make for one rather expensive dvd player or wanna be computer(anyway, I'll be one of the 1st in line for a PS3 to help Microsoft pack again!!!)

the link above is a link to xbox's website game list

In case you don't want to check the links PS3 is expected to release in Spring of 2006.

XBOX 360 WONDER !! THE BEST OUT THERE !!
Review created: 12/10/06
16 of 22 people found this review helpful.

I must say, this is the best system out there by far, and yes even better than the PS3. I went to ebgames to try the PS3 and he said the system already broke down not even three days after they installed it. Anyway, this review is about the Xbox 360. I waited in line for two days for this with my son, and let me tell you, it was brutal. But worth every minute I sat there listening to people who just bored the hell out of me with dumb stories and stuff. I finally got in the store at midnight and waited for my turn to buy it, when someone gave me this excuse to cut me, so he can go home to sleep to get up for work, loser did not cut me. Well, I got my system and bought 3 games with it and an extra controller. I got home, hooked the bad boy up and started playing football with my son. It was amazing all around. The graphics were PC like and with Gears of war and others that came out lately, even better than PC graphics. The sound was top notch and the interface and online play is like no other system out there. The controller is great on the hands. You really need a HDTV to get the full range of grapics on video games, because if you don't have one, your looking at Xbox graphics. So please go out and buy one to get the power of this system and the amazing graphics of video games they have out now. I can give you all the specs of this system, but you can look that up, but I can give you one word for you to get this system, AMAZING !! Now let me break down the good and the bad about this system to help you choose between the three that are out now.

The good: All games for the Xbox 360 are in high-definition, as is the excellent, user-friendly Dashboard interface. There's built-in support for wireless controllers and excellent online gaming, content downloads, and communications via Xbox Live. The console is not only backward compatible with many (but not all) original Xbox titles, but it also doubles as a superior digital media hub and Windows Media extender. The system's online Marketplace allows easy purchases of mini-games, movies, and TV shows.

The bad: The list of truly impressive next-gen games remains small. The console has some design flaws: a noisy exhaust fan, a gigantic oversized power supply, no built-in wireless networking, only three USB ports, and no DVI or HDMI output. The DVD player is rather substandard, and support for next-gen HD-DVD movies requires a bulky external accessory. Additionally, the system's customary 20GB hard drive can't store a lot of high-definition downloadable content. Online gaming requires a paid subscription to Xbox Live.

The bottom line: The Xbox 360 delivers the power and performance of a high-end gaming PC, including impressive digital media and networking features and if you have a HDTV it is all that much better than the rest.

I hope I helped you with my review in making your choice in picking the right system, but everyone has different needs on what they are looking for in a game, but if you base it on game quality and system power, than the Xbox 360 is the way to go.

A good choice of Game system!!

If you are looking around weather to get the PS3 or the 360 I wouldnt know what to tell you. The XBOX 360 has its ups and downs. I have now had the 360 in the shop 3 times. I have to say though that the Microsoft team has done an excellent job on the customer support. One key hint before using the 360 though. Although it has in there advertisement photo it standing vertically it scatches the disk when you do this because of the disc spinning so fast. A great game system but a hastle repair wise.

I Never Recieved it or a Complete refund.

I love xbox 360s but I never recieved this one or a refund. The guy kept saying it was going to be shipped in a couple of days and eventually after a month he said he wasn't going to ship it. I was mad but I wasn't too nervous because it was protected by Paypal's buyer protection. I gave the guy a few days to give me a refund and when he didn't I escalated the case to Paypal and let them take care of it.
I will be getting to this later but just to give you a head start the people at Paypal are FREAKING RETARDS!!! I appologize for being politically incorrect but they are.
So anyway I tell paypal that I haven't recieved the item. So Paypal gives the guy a set amount of time to reply and if he doesn't the case will be decided in my favor and I will be given a refund. Well a day before I'm going to get my refund Brian Morris, the Butt Monkey that I bought the thing from, gives Paypal a tracking number, AND THAT'S IT!
So I see this tracking number and I'm thinking cool I'm getting an Xbox 360. Turns out he shipped me a check for $226.00. Are you Freaking kidding me. I paid $372.00. And the worst part of all if the idiot didn't send me a dime I would have recieved a total refund.
So now Paypal thinks I recieved a the xbox 360. They give me an email that says that it appears that I got it and to reply to the email and tell them what's going on. So I reply to the email and tell them exactly what is going on. I still haven't even cashed the check. I don't know what to do. I ask paypal "What do I do? Tell me what to do and I'll do it."
Well unfortunately the guy they had manning the computer that day at paypal must not have had the ability to read because the FREAKING RETARDS (sorry once again) just dropped my case stating that "The seller supplied evidence that the product had been shipped." I'm sorry but holy cow how dumb can you be. If they did any research they would se that he sent me a freakin' envelope. WHAT KIND OF XBOX 360 FITS INSIDE A FREAKING ENVELOPE? Are you kidding me. I mean I'm lucky he sent me a check at all. He could have just sent me a letter that says "Hey Lube up Buddy, cause you're gettin' the shaft." As long as it had a tracking number that's all that Paypal needs.

So in summation I now hate Paypal and Brian Morris from Icetiger enterprizes is a Buttknocker.

XBOX 360 IT JUST KEEPS GETTING BETTER
Review created: 05/26/07
15 of 18 people found this review helpful.

So far so good. I own 3 sytstems and have not had any technical problems...knock on wood. Anyhow the graphics and the 3 computer chips really are a nice upgrade over the original XBOX.
Pros...graphics, speed
cons...some people report heating problems, limited games, backward compatibility needs to be updating more games.

They just came out with a larger hard drive which is needed. However I won't be getting one because I already own 3 of these systems.
