Microsoft Xbox 360 Elite System - 120 GB Black

This console is considered the best of all the xbox 360 systems, but before I purchased this one, I asked myself, why get the elite? Well, if you're not extremely picky or you're a casual gamer, chances are that you shouldn't get this system.

Looking back at it now, the only reason I purchased this system was because it was black. And truly, that IS the only advantage this system has over the Pro console. Yes, it has a bigger hard drive, but unlike the ps3, a hard drive over 20 gb is virtually useless. I've done my research, and the ONLY personal files you could put on your hard drive is music from CDs (burnt or official). Unlike the ps3, you can't transfer movies, pictures or anything else to the xbox hard drive unless it is modded or hacked. The hard drive is strictly for music from CDs, purchased arcade games, and any additional content that is taken from the game or from the xbox live marketplace. Really, now that I think of it, I pretty much knew this before I purchased the system, I just wanted a black hard drive to match the black elite system.

I guess I could talk about the graphics, which are GREAT! I've had a ps3 (gave it to a friend to play) and I'll tell you that I don't notice a difference in graphics (HDMI). Unless they are literally side by side, then little minor differences could be noted but, I would recommend the xbox 360 now because they have more games. Don't get me wrong, after using both I still believe that the ps3 is a MUCH better and easier system to use, but unfortunately the 360 has more games...so, tough luck sony.

Also, the elite console is no different from the 60gb pro console. But if you got money to spend, or like me, you "need" a black console then by all means get the elite. Otherwise if you don't care what color it is, and you would rather save money to get more games, GET the pro console. Just make sure that they have the falcon chip installed because (as another fault of the xbox) they tend to overheat.
