Microsoft Xbox 360 Arcade

I really think the Arcade unit is not suited to most people.
You need the Hard Drive for So Many things.
There are always Game Updates that are Mandatory for Online Play and a 256 Meg Card will fill up quick.
Then if you want Map Packs, Demos, or to Play Original XBox Games you are gonna need the Hard Drive.

The Arcade unit is really there to Sucker people in with the $199 price.
Then you will end up buying a Hard Drive for another $100, then you will buy a High Def Cable for another $50, Then you might buy the Wireless adapter for another $100... It keeps going, I feel Microsoft is Trying to Nickel and Dime me to Death. Not to Mention XBox Live...

All in all My XBox 360 has cost a TON more than my PS3 did.
I bought both at Launch of each system.
My 360: Totaling $900
Console $400 + Wireless $100 + XBox Live $50 (Times 4 so far = $200)
Then I got the Red Ring of Death 3 Times so I bought this Arcade Unit as a Replacement $200.
My PS3: Totaling $600
I bought the 60 Gig at Launch.

Granted all the Prices have changed since then.

So It comes down to Quality and the Price to Play each system Online that I give the XBox Only a 3 Star Rating. I love the Halo Series which is why we keep the 360 around. Since I cannot trust the Quality we Mainly buy all Multi-Platform Games for our PS3. Also because Online is Free on the PS3 and we can have a separate profile for all 4 Family Members. XBox Live REALLY needs a Gold Pack for Families. The Buddy List is not real helpful when more than one Family member is sharing that online persona... and I cannot see paying $50 per year per person for Live... We have 4 Gamers in our Family and we are NOT paying $200 a year just to play our games online...

Now if you are buying an Arcade unit to Replace an Original XBox360 that is Having way too many problems like me then this is the way to go. You get a newer unit with a Warranty. It is Cheaper and You can just Snap your Old Hard Drive on to it and you are up and Running. This is why I call it the "Red Ring of Death Replacement Unit"

I like nothing about it! It doesn't work! The description was misleading and the item stoped working almost as soon as i got it? I bought this Xbox thinking "working" meant that it worked? I got scamed! It must have been Monkey rigged so that it worked the first and 5th time I tried to turn it on? The second day it stopped completly. The 3 red lights just flash? ROD? It's not worth risking your feedback score for an $80 item!

I bought this product as a gift for our son - because of a unsavory seller I had to rely on PAY PAL protection to return it. My son did not get his birthday gift and I lost $20.00+ on the return shipping. I get a review that states I "tried to keep". I understand this is not the proper forum for this review but it's my only chance to vent. The fear that I have transacting business on E-bay all came to light because of a seller that E-bay continues to allow to sell on this site. I take the blame for being an honest customer that assumed the seller to be the same. The lies that were posted during the claim phase of the transaction generated reasons for E-bay to act accordingly. I now have a general understanding of E-bay going forward that it is not very favorable way of purchasing merchadise.

Decided to buy in hopes of repair and resale for profit. It was a rude awakening. There is a great scam going on in this field if game systems. The sale of systems which can't be repaired under the pretext that you may be able to fix it. That's the Bait. Many of these systems have been purchased and sifted through by Shrude sellers. The valuable parts are removed and sold individually and you end up buying a "system" that is a conglomeration of unrepairable junk. Once in a while you get a person selling a system that they owned and used, and if you can get, it you may get one that is repairable. Most of these for sale simply are not. They are in my opinion, sifted and stripped garbage. Most have the hdd removed. That is the only thing of value on most of these systems. Some removed cd/dvd drive and replace them with a defective one that doesn't match the system board and can't be used. Be careful when buying these systems. You may very well spend more on replacing parts than you will be able to sell it for.

Once again leave it to Microsoft to rip of the world. Yes the system's graphics are awesome, yes there are more games, and at a better quality than the ps3. Yes, Microsoft's third parties used substandard materials to manufacture these consoles. I do believe Microsoft was aware of this business plan, hence their warranties you can purchase from them! Where as majority of electronics in life come WITH a warranty. If you buy one, expect it to break within a year. Unless you buy a cooling fan.

I love the price this xbox 360 is at right now! very Affordable for a great gaming system!! Best Bang for the Buck!!

Mine doesn't have the built-in memory, but most xbox arcades do. The pro and elite are better, but cost more. Good xbox but you may need a hard drive.

what i like of this console is that is more cooler than the others and is very quiet in noise in scale i give 9, better work from Microsoft, it seams to be perfect i game for 6 hours and the console was warm, wow i said, is very surprising is you want to buy and xbox 360 you better find the jasper core, thank you.

I bought this product on this website and It was totally unsatisfactory. I did not get the support I wanted from Ebay and wll not purchase from this site gain.

xbox360 arcade is the stripped down version of the xbox 360 pro and elite series. if you buy an arcade you will discover that you cant save games without a HHD which is sold separately. any arcade purchased comes with everything youll need to start but you will be unsatisfied without a HHD. Keep this in mind when bidding that the next level up include a HHD for $299. Performs as well as an elite or PRo.

Bought this because our 1st xbox 360 fell victim to the "red light ring of death" . It was out of warranty and efforts at self repair were unsuccessful. Not sure why Microsoft hasn't been subject to a class action lawsuit over this problem which is clearly a design flaw and a common problem.

We have so much invested in this game system (in games) that we had little choice but to buy a new console, but if it hadn't been such a good deal I would have thought twice about it. I expect it to be dead in another year or so like the last one and then we'll move on to something else.

After a friend's home got burglarized resulting in goodbye 360, I (self-proclaimed ebay expert buyer) was asked 2 assist in the acquisition of another 360 but at a poverty-stricken price. Lo and behold, I found the item I am presently writing about for $115, including shipping. As soon as I got it, I hooked it up 2 da tube & it worked fine. A few days later, however, my homey told me that the box was afflicted with 3 red flashing lights; the dreaded Ring of Death. Immediately thereafter, I contacted the seller and advised him of the situation. We agreed that I would first attempt to get Microsoft to fix it under an arguably expired 3-year warranty (General Hardware Failure) and then if unsuccessful, I would turn to the seller for recourse. So the bottomline is this: buy a used 360 on eBay only if the seller offers a 30 day warranty and the seller represents that the box (including XBox Live) is otherwise fully functional.

should take time to check parts. it does not take long to check the content. this seller just sells and does not care about the product.

i got it because it said that the only thing wroung was r rod but when i got it cd drive didnt work .i was not happy with this at all.

I love the controllers, they are very comfortable and accurate. The dreaded ring of death is a huuuuge headache. Probably the biggest downfall of the system and almost enough to switch over to ps3

this system is great. My daughter enjoys play it. the only downsize is that it doesn't have a hard drive.
