I love this thing. All you have to do is plug it in and press the connect button on the xbox 360 controller and I can use the controller.

Got the product. Works like it's brand new. Nothing wrong with the product, came with everything it said it would come with. Quick and easy.

Works as advertised. Lets you play PC games with a 360 controller. This is a huge bonus for me as I've been a console gamer all my life and the mouse/keyboard keyboard combo just doesn't work as fluidly for me as a controller. Now I can play whatever PC games I like and not have to deal w/ the awkward controls.

Hook it into the USB, press the button on the receiver, press the 'search' button on your controller (not the Xbox button, the one near the port on the top of the controller) and they sync right up. Games choose the controller by default and already have a solid control scheme in place which you can customize as you see fit. Shame that it seems Microsoft has stopped selling them without controllers.

I've wanted one of these for a while. It just makes sense to have a way to use your 360 wireless controller for a PC way you can the wired. As the 360 controller is pretty much the best basic console controller, this add-on is kind of crucial for players of some PC ports and precision/repetition games. I'm going to try using this with the 360 media remote for my htpc very soon and, if that works out, will totally praise this little dongle without reserve.

purchased this and a world tour guitar hero controller to play GH3 on my pc instead of using the cheesy x-plorer controller that comes with pc version, and im impressed. worked flawlessly. as others have stated, doesnt have a key mapping function, but there are good ones for free that you can download on the net.

I recently bought this receiver along with a gaming quality PC. As an owner of an Xbox 360, it was the most cost-effective way to get a PC game controller. I am running Vista Ultimate 64-bit and it instantly recognized the receiver. I was up and playing within 3 minutes. I tried it with Dead Space, Mirror's Edge, and Burnout Paradise which all natively support the controller, rumble and everything, even substituting the keyboard prompts to show Xbox 360 buttons. I even tried it with Guitar Hero III for PC and it linked up my guitar perfectly!
Overall, I really have no complaints. It says it supports up to 4 controllers and headsets, even the racing wheel. I haven't tried out the headset support, and I don't really plan to since I have a headset for games already. I don't own the racing wheel. I hear some games don't let you map the buttons correctly, but that's easily solved through free software such as Joy2Key.
I cannot recommend this highly enough to those who want a PC controller and already own a 360. It's a cheap way to use all your existing accessories. If you DON'T already own a 360 controller, it's probably better to get the wired 360 controller or any other controller for that matter.

Product worked fantastic, I use it on most of my pc games and it feels like im playing my xbox360. It works great on war games and makes it easier to use one controller instead of the mouse and keyboard. A must have.

This receiver install itself in vista and works well with Guitar Hero 3 and Aerosmith. The guitar controller will identify as a regular game controller. Just use software like xpadder to link the control to a keyboard key and you can play guitar hero like you do with a console.
