Microsoft Wireless Headset for Xbox 360

I have owned my Microsoft Wireless Headset for about 4 months now. Overall, it is a quality product, with some benefits, and of course, some downfalls. First of all, the wireless headset is battery powered buy its own built in battery. This means when it dies, and you're still online playing, you have to hook up its USB cable, and charge it from the Xbox 360. While charging, the headset CANNOT be used. I find this a major disappointment. Also, the headset seems to pick up more background noise than the wired headset. The final little detail that I don't like about the wireless headset is its range. With my wireless controller + WIRED headset, I could walk approx. 25 ft around my house, and still chat on xbox live while I grabbed a snack, or did whatever I needed to do. Going approx. 20 ft with the wireless headset causes it to cut out. My last complaint is one i have experienced while gaming, and I suppose applies to "serious" gamers. With the WIRED headset, to mute the microphone, you simply flick a switch where the headset plugs into your controller, with the WIRELESS headset, you must press the on/off button that is located on the headset. This action of taking your hand off the controller to mute yourself can seem annoying (at least to me, anyway) But, there are some perks to the wireless headset, such as:
- Fits snugly around ear
- Wireless - No tangles, no wired hassle
- Supports up to four wireless headsets at once
- Convent on/off button and volume control, complete with a little beeping reminder that tells you you have your mic muted.
- complete with a series of beeps telling you your battery is low

Overall, this product is nothing special, but if you're like me, and can't stand the mess of wires, then this product is for you. If you're contemplating about shelling out the extra 20-30 dollars for this product, however, don't bite. Stick with the wired controllers. No need for charging, and they work just as well, if not better.

The wireless headset is a great investment for the Xbox 360. I had previously used wired headsets, but the metal prong that goes into the controller kept breaking off, making the headset useless. I figured, why not get a wireless headset to solve the problem? Getting the wireless headset sure did solve the problem. I no longer have to worry about a prong breaking or anything of that sort. The wireless headset holds a charge well, charges fast, and the quality is just as good as the wired headset, if not better. I recommend this product to anybody who owns a 360 and play online. It is a must have!!

I found that the Microsoft Wireless Headset was overall a pretty good product. It had a good range, the charge lasted for a long time, and it was no hassle to carry around as it had no wires attached to it. It takes a while to get adjusted to the headset and your ear may hurt a little the first couple times you use it, but that problem goes away quickly and you are left with a great product! If you are hesitating at buying one because of the $60 retail price, don't be scared to buy a used one (That's what I did) as they usually function just as well as a new one. Overall I give the wireless headset a 4/5 and would recommend that people buy it over a cheap wired headset (The reason I bought a wireless headset was because my wired headset stopped playing sound through the headphones only 9 months after I got it!).

This headset makes gaming easier, no more carrying your controller where ever you need to go, it sometimes disconnects but quickly connect back to your 360.Overall I would recommend this headset.

No wires. Better sound quality and better mic for others to hear you. Fast charge.Lasts long. Able to move freely with head set. Stays on ear without falling off. Soft ear piece and controls easy for access.

What I liked about this headset is it's battery, it lasts around 8 hours if fully charged.

The sound is NOT crystal clear, it has some distortion noise! (Although if you are in very close to the Xbox itself)

It's very easy to pair it with the console, and when you turn OFF the console it turns itself off automatically.

There's a known issue that's sometimes happening: The headset gets dropped automatically for 1-2 sec then it reconnects again, so you can't hear your friends for 1-2 sec which is a bug in the hardware.

Other than that, I just purchased it because I got it for a great price (compared to its retail price) and I wanted to try experiencing a WIRELESS headset!

This is much better than the wired headset, you can hear clearer, it fits fine on your ear, etc. I definitely recommend it.

I bought the Microsoft wireless headset for the Xbox 360 about two months after I got the Xbox 360 Elite. I doing the whole wireless thing with the controllers, Rock Band guitars, and the headset.

It the one of the most ridiculous products that rolled off Microsoft's production line. You have to press a small button to turn up or down the volume, if its doing either one. Makes a "beep" every time you turn up or down the volume button or pressing in the volume button to mute.

Battery life says 12 hours, lol. Mine last 4 hours before a annoying "beeping noise" to recharge.

Stick with the wired headset, you'll save money, and time.

Well, its a wireless headset which is the cool thing, but I miss having a mute button, so for more games that don't have a push to talk button, I use the wired one. Just keep that in mind, its annoying when people have their mics on and you can hear all of the sound echos from their T.V.

I think is a great item. Once I received the headset I charged it overnight and started playing in the morning. It lasted for about 2 days before I had to charge it. I played about 3 hours each session!! Its wireless and has great sound. Highly recommend this product!!

love it recommend you buy it! great feeling around the ear and I can hear everyone! yes it picks up your voice a lot so sometimes you can hear the tv noise in the background. but otherwise its great.

Item was all good, I need a headset that was wireless and this just does that , charging in a small mission beacause of the cable and no removable battery , but other than that it is relly all good

After only two weeks of use the unit is on its way back to Microsoft for replacement. Worked great, easily installed, then died.

works great arrived faster than anticipated looks brand new i dont know what was wrong i plugged it to the xbox and it started charging

sometimes the headset won't connect to wireless controller, uncomfortable.
