  Fast-paced, goofy, addicting multiplayer racing.
Review created: 01/18/09

Micro Machines 64 is definitely a good multiplayer racing game for the old N64, but don't expect a "real" racing game. Instead it has a quirky but amusing system of keeping all players on one overhead view; when someone falls behind, their car suddenly explodes. The player who most consistently keeps himself from exploding is the winner. The large number of tracks (such as a kitchen table, a backyard, a chemistry lab table, etc) and vehicle types, random power ups you can find, and the bizarre but fun racing mechanics make this a good "party" type game. You'll find it addicting if you don't take it too seriously.

  Micro Machines 64 Turbo Review
Review created: 03/05/08

Remember the days when you would take your little Micro Machines and "drive" them over the table and obstacles and race them together? Well this game is even better than doing that. You choose between several different Micro Machines, all with different attributes, then race them around hilarious surfaces (a pool table, kitchen table, etc).

The game is tough sometimes because what wouldn't be obstacles in real life like a fork, cereal box or an 8 ball are now the things that will make you lose the race if you ram into them. The overhead view is good, but you have to stay on your toes for tight corners, because falling off the table generally means you lose. The cars are very responsive (sometimes too responsive) so you can make quick adjustments as needed. Graphics are standard N64 quality, and there is no lag during quick races. Overall I'd say this game is a good game for playing by yourself or with friends, but it's not mind blowingly popular, even though it should be.

This game is terrible. The game play takes a long time to get used to but even after that your stupid cars are very hard to keep on the track. the only good feature about this game is the fact that you can play 4 players similtaniously.

  Maximum Fun, Minimum Hype

Pros:
Maximum replay value, great multi-player

Cons:
Sound, occasional framerate slowdown, some one player levels cannot be played in the multi-player mode (unlike the PSX version)

This game is a must buy for any fan of the multi-player marathon session a la Goldeneye and Mario Kart. I find that a lot of the games, both one player and multi-player, on N64 lack challenge and subsequently lack any amount of serious replay value. This game bucks that trend in a big way. It's All About the Multi-player Forget about the one player mode. If the one player mode equals X, then the multi-player mode equals X to the 10th power. If you don't have any friends to play this game with I recommend that you to steer clear of this title; but if you have 4 buddies who appreciate a good...

Pros:
fun

Cons:
ok

This game allows you to race little toy cars (and boats) around normal household environments such as a kitchen table, a desk, a pool table, or a swimming pool. This is a heck of a party game, allowing up to eight players to play on FOUR controllers (sharing). Well the screen follows the leader, and if you don't keep up you lose. It's a blast to play, especially with the wacky weapons. The one player modes are less exciting, but do allow you to win bonus cars which you can save and use later. A overall good game to have if your bored.

Pros:
Excellent Racing Game

Cons:
Not one yet...........

This game is a very cool game. The computer graphics are excellent, as if you can ask for any more from Nintendo. I bought this game basing the performance on the Micro Machines that I played on the Super Nintendo. However, this one surpassed all expectations. The bonus to this game is you can pick different cars for the same track. Your oponent has the same car, but can really mess you up by picking up little extra gadgets, like bombs, hammers, etc. If you have a Nintendo 64 then this will be a game for you to first rent, then buy, because I know that you will be overwhelmed by the way this..
